You are 100 percent correct these are no longer used... and i like to add also walking left throw to the right , no longer waking to the arrow of your intention...keep up with the good work..

Higher swing is definitely more potential energy, it won't necessarily translate into more power without a properly executed swing and good timing but to say it's outdated and unhelpful is entirely wrong.

@@MatthewWatches Thank you for your comment! You made a point and this potential energy seems more obvious in doing straight spare. This video focuses on competitive advantage in modern games where we, one handers are competing, or performing on the same stage, with two handers. Now we can often see a thumbless bowler “out-power” any high swing guy. Here we didn’t say that any style bowls better than the others. Yet, when a bowling style can outperform that high swing in speed and rev, it becomes a solid counter-example why Release Timing would be the top crucial factor of power. In other words, high swing is no longer a competitive advantage. Hope it helps in understanding this video!

I'm really confused because the point of a higher backswing is you're letting the ball start at a higher point which means more momentum at release and more power without using muscle. Like a pendulum, the higher the start the faster it goes.
@janproshopchannel3 ай бұрын
@@jcollura6766 In a pendulum, the wire is under tension and straight like shooting spare. Yet in modern release we bend elbow like using a loose wire. The game has changed.

@@janproshopchannel Okay I hear you so I wanted to make sure I'm not crazy and sure enough every PBA bowler with the modern release like EJ Tackett has the ball WAY higher than their heads on the backswing.

I feel you have some good information to impart. However, I found your wording frustratingly hard to interpret, and I don't understand the lesson. 😢 especially irrelevant tip#2 bending the knee. Straight knee generates more power?
@janproshopchannel4 ай бұрын
@@zedsodead correct, your knee will bend anyway, but your muscles counter-bend it. I may consider to make an independent video for this topic.
