Pick up a Beri Edge, cheaper than the dfam, and even cheaper than a therapy session. Get it while you can. Global trade is about to grind to a halt (it took me over 4 months to receive the Edge I purchased in the states), instruments won't be easily available, and worse, you will be drafted into the military of your nation, where your life expectancy will be substantially curtailed. Just get the Edge now, and live a little while you have the chance.

hell yes DFAM plus digitakt is an immensely fun combo - the audio routing with effects on the digitakt add a lot to the DFAM, and if you can get your hands on a MIDI to CV converter you can sequence / sync the DFAM to the digitakt. plus yes just plain sampling it into the digitakt is stupidly entertaining, it's hard to get a bad sound out of it

Hey Mate, I just wanted to kindly point out that you set your sequencer to step 1 before you start your beat. So the bassline starts on step 2 while the DAW plays its step 1. With the DFAM you have to go to the last step and then let it run. Just a hint. Otherwise great video! Keep it up!

@audioreakt Жыл бұрын

Hi! Thank you for this great tutorial! How come your triangle sounds like a sawtooth. It has a lot of harmonics, which is not the sound I am used from a triangle wave. At least neither my dfam nor my matriarch sound like that in triangle mode. Are you using distortion or anything similar?
@audioreakt Жыл бұрын
hello, I just did the test, the triangle from osc1 is sounding like a triangle, maybe slightly more harmonics, and it's true that the one from osc2 is almost sounding like a sawtooth.. I don't have any distortion, intnhe manual they say that both waveform are different from osc1 and osc2. Double check on your side I will eb curious to see if your triangle from osc2 is like mine, in between triangle and sawtooth
@hado013 Жыл бұрын
@@audioreakthi! Thanks for your reply. That’s really strange. I checked again and both triangle waves sound the same on my dfam. Also I couldn’t find anything in the manual saying they would differ. The only way, I get more harmonics is when I hard sync or fm. Your osc 2 has way more harmonics than mine 🤔

I can't find answers on the following question about the DFAM, so i hope someone is covering me here: I'm playing a Roland TR 8 (vers.1) and I would like to know if it's possible send out the rimshot via the assignable output with a single mono cable into the clock or the trigger from the DFAM. In my head this would be such an easy way to play or sync the DFAM but I don't know if the voltage would be to high or to low. Anyone can help who?
@audioreakt Жыл бұрын
Idk to be honest and I don't want to tell you bs, what about using the midi out and using a midi/jack adapter
@fkcoriander2 жыл бұрын
Somewhere I learned that you have to advance the DFAM step to the last one so if you press start in ableton it hits on the first one. Or am I wrong? My clock is Ableton and the TR8S clocks the DFAM.
@bleepsbloops2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s correct, the DFAM doesn’t have a sequencer step reset. Eurorack modules such as the Disting mk4 have features to advance the clock for you when restarting a sequence/pattern (see the “Counter” module in the Disting). Other than that, you have to do it yourself 😢
@audioreakt2 жыл бұрын
yes I often do like that too, what I have been trying to do lately is that once everything is running and sync, I don't stop anything anymore and leave live running forever, and just mute solo to work on other element if needed 😅, it's really a shame the dfam doesnt have a reset.
@audioreakt2 жыл бұрын
I just got myself a disting I will look into that, I know there is also around a DFAM extension that you can buy somewhere but don't remember where and what it does 🤷♂️
