Its this style displayed which morphed from 70's disco/funk that reminds how crazy talented the funk and disco bassists of 30 odd years ago were and are!

Very good lesson! The real role of a bassist, not too fashion, not that hidden inside the track.

I have no use for this lesson but it was still entertaining to listen and watch. I'd probably pick up a bass just for this lol.

bro, there is nothing like a good old fashion bass guitar to do the work right. its super hard to get a decent bass sound with software. I think I'm going to buy a bass now.

Nice! I tried to mix my bass with a synth playing the same notes, but it didn't quite sound right to me. Now I know I should go an octave lower. And it still all in the hands it seems :)

Matt... This is excellent. Some great tips explained really well .... The thing about a lot of great tutors (including you) even though it may appear you're giving away some of your secrets ...... but it's a reference point to give us direction and focus which help inspire and guide us rather than have us floundering around ......

it's Phrygian at least when he played it

+SantomPh In the example it is Phrygian, just when he plays the scale on it's own it's Locrian.

I don't want to say anything, this video is great and informative. But thats not techno. It doesn't even get near of what techno really is. And i know its possible to play techno on a bass. i'm not an expert of music genres but i'll write what i think it is. Figure 1 is kinda 80's/ disco house figure 2 disco figure 3 this is techno figure 4 thats electro synth figure 5 funk? dance? figure 6 Techno! figure 7 funk figure 8 house? figure 9 techno so from 9 figures are only 3 really techno. I'm glad that some exist. but pleaseeee, thats kinda triggering 😅 and this is definitely not a hate comment, i just wanted to make something clear. (yes my grammar is not perfect 👍🏼)
