This is a video demonstrating the sounds of the Korg DDM-110.
The DDM-110 was released in 1985. It uses 8-bit samples that are very gritty and blunt. The DDM-110 has a really bad reputation, but to me the restrictions of this machine are really inspiring. It always puts me in a playful mood trying to extract as much as possible from it. Especially the on the fly possibilities put me on the edge and force me to make creative decisions very quickly. As you can see, the closed hi hat and open hi hat cannot be used together. The closed hi hat has preference over the open one. Also, you cannot change the panning of the sounds.
Hope you enjoy the video and please subscribe!
