Thank you so much for posting this! Today the lcd of my Nikon accidentally broke during some outdoor shooting. I was desperate, the camera is still new. I called the assistance to see if they could substitute the lcd and they told me they could but for a crazy price. Then I saw your video and I am using my old iPhone as lcd instead.

Ingenious, extraordinary. I've been using DSLR's for the last 10 years and never knew this was possible. Completely negates the need for swiveling or flip open displays! Hopefully you can tell us how to control photos from the smartphone once you are hooked up. Thanks!

I found the fisrt video which gives the right answer in my question, i was trying to find so many days how to connect camera with phone wireless sth that didn't work because as your camera, mine(it's the same canon eos 1300d) hasn't that option. The problem with this method is that there is significant lag between what the camera sees and the time it takes to display that on the phone (watch the leaves at the end of the vid). If you're doing stationary shots or just want a bigger screen, use this. If you're shooting handheld, stabilising, panning etc., it's def worth it to buy an actual monitor,

Hi Harsh Punjabi, Is it fair to say that depending on the phone and app, the phone display may give a false reading/visual output than that of the DSLR even if you were to adjust the settings, which may result in cheap, amateur looking footage and be harder or impossible to edit in post? P4TTT see stock iOS doesn't support OTG that's why for iOS you need to jailbreak it The last jailbreak version was for iOS 9.3 That's why I'm trying to downgrade my iPhone to 9.3 then I'll try and make the iPhone video if possible
