Use your Smartphone as a DSLR Monitor | Nikon D3200

In this video i tried to make my android phone as a DOP monitor or as a extra screen for my nikon D3200 camera. Nikon D3200 does not have a flip out screen, So you can use your smartphone as a DSLR monitor.

I have a D3200. How did the qDslrDashboard application perform in combination with the D3200? What works and what doesn't work. I would primarily use it for photographing low objects on the ground (flowers in the grass, etc.) Given that the D3200 has a fixed screen and does not have the ability to adjust and turn upwards, it is difficult to photograph something low.

for photography it works perfectly. i think it's a paid app and i don't think for photography you need to buy that app, the app i showed in the video works fine.

hi, i can understand your problem, but don't worry,any otg adapter should work in this case.Just buy one otg adapter that you're comfortable buying budget wise,In this video i have used the adapter i got free with my samsung phone.hope you got your answer..

I think qdslrdashboard is available for ios, you can use that if you want, the country i am right now it's not available so i can't tell you for sure, camera connect and control is another app you can use but you gonna need a wifi adapter for that.Hope you get your answers.

I can only see preview using hdmi to monitor, but cannot control, have to check cameras buttons each time please help..is there any way i can contrl, focus remotely , and see live preview, and click on start recording, while sitting on my chair...

@@prateekbhardwaj9943 Any camera that has built in bluetooth, you can control it by phone. It's difficult to suggest someone a camera because i don't know the purpose you are going to use that camera and also the budget .I have personally used canon and sony cameras, They work fine.

it steals the live view from the dslr monitor. It does not duplicate the live view. So meaning, the autofocus of the camera will not work here. Am I correct?

Nope..autofocus has nothing to do with the display..autofocus still works.

i think you might find cheap alternatives as well. it's just a cable so no need to buy the official one if it's expensive, just try to find similar i/o cable's might work as well.

yes, it doesn't work for videos, video features aren't supported for nikon d3200. I have mentioned this in the video as well.
