I'm glad you were able to use Master Tech RV in Elkhart. They're great folks, and really helped us out over the winter of 2013-2014 when we were in Elkhart. Our daughter in law had a contracted a rare form of cancer and we became caregivers for our 6 grandkids, using our motorhome as our sleeping apartment, in one of the coldest winters on record. Master Tech RV allowed us to use their dump station, and even let me park the RV in their shop to thaw when the black tank froze. Boondocking at temps below zero comes with special challenges! We haven't forgot the gracious folks at Master Tech, and continue to thank them whenever we have the chance. Like now!

+David Densmore They are kind and helpful people, for sure. Overall, we're happy with their quality of work.. but we're still recovering from the experience we went through to get back on the road when things went awry in their shop this summer. The full details of our ordeal are documented in our weekly progress reports in this same playlist.

One that I saw some time back was the uses of a trash can that dumps into one of the lower bays to keep the trash out of the living area. Trash mess is never dropped in the living area any more, non of the oops the bag broke. Video looked really good... ty for it.. can wait to see what happen in the future..

The reno you did to your home is fantastic, well thought out and organized the way you wanted and not someone engineers idea when designing a new RV or Bus conversion. Like the mini projector you have for flicks and the hydronic system, All in all, it appears the delays and frustration you guys went through to get everything completed was well worth the wait.

Great tour. Fantastic improvements. It doesn't get any better than a propane generator, hydronic heating, lithium battery bank and your solar panels. Excellent choices.

Now that the "Off grid power" has been established, now id start researching and putting together a "Capacitor" bank instead of using batteries, the weight reduction, power and reliability in a capacitor bank are far superior than lead acid, gel cells or even in some cases Lithium ion systems. Thanks for sharing your videos! Kind regards, Eric Dee

Guys! We just watched your video and LOVED all the upgrades and mods you've made to Zephyr, she looks fantastic and obviously you are enjoying many more creature comforts, Kiki included! Also noticed your nice new Captain's Chairs - aren't they great!?. We really felt for you both, with all the delays and headaches you experienced with the renovation, and are just so delighted to see that it's all been worth it and you are clearly so thrilled with your snazzy new home! Paint job looks awesome, love the destination window too. Thanks for sharing the meaning behind your logo on the back, that's so cool. Anyway, hope to see it in person again sometime down the road when we serendipitously run into you in the middle of nowhere in the desert again! Haha. So excited for you guys. My wife and I bought a 24 foot travel trailer about 5 years ago and we have used it quite a bit for week long trips and over that 5 years of time we both have determined any more than 3 days and we are ready to go home. Although our trailer has a nice slide out, and a very nice floor plan we feel cramped after about 3 days . I guess full timing takes a special kind of person? we cant imagine doing that. he he he

That litter box space is so awesome. Having dedicated ventilation for it is smart. I like cats, but not the litter box so much. Something like that would make it doable. That is an idea the RV manufacturing industry might offer as an option on rigs for cat people. Nice space saver idea with the screen/projector. I had not thought of that. Thanks for sharing your home. I always wondered what the none couch parts looked like. Lol.

Very nice. I noticed the large convection microwave, but without a conventional oven or propane cook top, I can only assume that you also have some kind of conductive, table-top unit for frying, sauteing, and that sort of thing. I like the idea of picking a primary power source such as electricity / solar, and then trying to use it for as many different applications as possible.
@Technomadia9 жыл бұрын
+Mark Villano Yup, we went propane free when we first got our bus. Our primary cooking is an induction cooktop, convection/microwave, outdoor gas grill and an Instant Power pressure cooker.

Hi Chris and Cherie. I Love the conversion.One of the best. Can you teach people how to do their own conversion? Maybe write a book on how to convert a bus.Or even going into business converting buses?
@Technomadia8 жыл бұрын
Oh gosh.. we're far from experts and we didn't convert our own bus. We bought ours already converted, and then modified from there (hiring a lot out). But join up over at www.busconversions.com - they have a magazine that has been published for a long time on the subject. Lots of great info & wisdom there.
@KG5RK8 жыл бұрын
Hello Chris, & Cherie, What a beautiful bus you have. Have you considered selling plans for your design? I think you have a really great design. Chris, I got a laugh out of your bathroom sign. I haven't seen one in 40 years! Were you on a sub? If so, which one? I did a shipyard overhaul and three patrols back in the 70's. That was another form of boondocking that I don't care to repeat, EVER ... LOL.
@Technomadia8 жыл бұрын
Thanks.. we love our bus, but wouldn't even know where to begin in 'selling the design'. There's a lot of bus conversion designs however to be found over at www.busconversions.com. And you're one of the few to recognize the bathroom sign. :) It was actually my (Cherie) father's.. he was a Nav-ET on SSBN-601 from 1965-1970. It's one of the few things I kept of his after he passed a few years back.

Follow-up: I finally got to see the bathroom reno. Excellent job! Nice to see a residential-style flush toilet upgrade. So tired of seeing downgrades to composting models. I always thought of them as human litter boxes. Finally, someone who took what was there and made it better. BTW, does the new one recirculate when it flushes? I also like that you left the cabinets as-is and didn't paint them. Oak is more pleasant to look at than white paint. One question: Along with the compact projector, did you upgrade or install a new sound system to go with it? BTW, excellent, detailed explanation of all upgrades , but would have liked to see the refrigerator and more of the A/V.

I am not affiliated with this company but recommend for your kitty the Breeze litter box system. No more litter box dust or tracking with this system. It uses pee pads which is so much faster to dispose of with no more scooping of urine. It uses pellets which the only scooping you do is for bowel movements and it does not hide scent of that very well but my guess is your space for the litter box with ventilation will work for that. We are new to traveling with pets. If you leave to go to town do you leave the ac on for kitty or windows open? I get nervous leaving my poodle behind and have yet to take our kitty with us because of fear.

Since you to know a lot about Electronics I have a 40 foot Fleetwood Motorhome that is 7 years old that I just changed all the batteries for house batteries and two batteries for the engine. Now the selection box up front will not go to the first position only the second position and which makes the two airs run at the same time it will not go to selection position one I did not know if this was caused when I switch the batteries out by placing a wire in the wrong battery compartment would you have any idea as to why I cannot go to position one for the furnaces and air conditioner?
@Technomadia7 жыл бұрын
Would recommend finding a Fleetwood owners group for guidance... try IRV2.com for some brand specific forums. We have a bus conversion that is a bit odd, and not familiar with the mainstream motorhome builds.
