The home internet needs of today are nothing like they were in the past and the demand increases all the time. What used to be a computer and an X-Box at home, is now 30-40 WiFi enabled devices, many that require high speed connections for 4K video streaming, gaming, and much more. You may be asking yourself which kind of home WifI setup you need, and in this video I will answer the question for whether you need a traditional wireless router, or a whole home mesh WiFi setup. The TP-Link Deco XE75 and TP-Linke Archer AXE75 are great products for 6E Wi-Fi at home, or at the office!

@TechOdyssey question, I live in a 2br apartment 1 floor, about 900-1000sq ft of size of the apartment. I stream for my TV and I have been doing some speed test for my internet. I found that I have better download speeds on WiFi than hardwired using my Android TV box. I only have about 6 devices connected to my wifi and I'm also using my ISP router which is not the greatest. My router is located in my living room and my streaming devices are in my bedroom which is roughly about 10-15ft away from the router. Would you recommend the TP link router for the best solution?

We just had fiber put in and they came and installed the modem today. We bought the TP-Link - Archer AXE7800 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Router and set it up. Was super easy and OMG the speeds are so much faster than our old coaxial internet and modem/router setup. We're getting about 250 Mbps down and 250 Mbps up! Thanks for the tip on pointing the antennas. I adjusted them to point towards the areas of the house we typically use WiFi. I checked the signal strength on all three floors- it's 100% on the middle floor with the router and about 90% on the second floor and about 80% in the basement rooms on the 5 GHz channel. On the 2.4 GHZ it's 100% throughout the entire house. I haven't tested the 6G yet.

That works fine. You can run the Decos in access point mode with your existing router handling the traffic. But I think you lose features that way. You can leave the Decos in router mode as a sub network as well. Where I am, I disabled the routing and wifi radio on my fiber router and let the Decos do all that, but that's not even necessary, especially if you plan on having everything on the mesh network.

Why do people still use gaming as an excuse for recommending wifi setups? Seriously if you need low latency just buy a long ethernet cable and some cable clips / raceway. WiFi is for watching tv, phone stuff or browsing stuff you don't care if it takes a fifth of a second shorter, not gaming at the level that latency that you need the peformance low latency gives you. Great video though. Perfectly explained

There is one huge upside to using a Mesh WiFi setup over the normal style of WiFi Router we all know about. Let's say you own a TP-Link Deco Mesh system that comes with 3 devices. Now let's say the main Deco device that had the broadband modem connected to ended up dying therefore you lost internet access. You can simple move one of the other Deco devices to where the broadband modem is located and get it back up running. If have a normal style of WiFi Router if that thing quits working for some reason you can SOL until you get it replaced.

Doesn't work that way. The one with the router is called OneMesh that only works with other routers and Wifi Extenders, so in that case you probably wouldn't need as "powerful" router as Archer AXE75, because it would be adviced to turn that Wifi off entirely if you want a Mesh that is supposed to work like a Mesh does. You can however plug in Deco devices to this router and play with the OneMesh and then get multiple Deco Mesh devices to each dead spot of your house, e.g. floor 1, 2, 3 and garage and they work. This is a shame in my opinion, since I really thought that Archer AXE75 would be in the same Mesh with Deco devices, but nope. This was a poor choice from TP-Link in my opinion.

@@TechOdyssey cause I have a mesh system and I'm not impressed with it. Two BE95's On the 6ghz band I barely get 90 mbps sitting 6 ft away the 5ghz band used to give me 800+ and now it's dropping after only using them 2 weeks constantly to less that 500mbps yet my hard wire is always 970mbps. I think the WiFi is failing.

@@cristian.rengifo i think deco is easier to manage overall.. onemesh is good if u alrdy bought the non deco stuff like me.. cos u can mesh without purposely buying mesh.. but since i have both, id say deco is easier.. and heres a few positives: easier and faster to load and see things, has dark mode, has built in speed tester, has native protection..

I'm in an apartment where the Internet comes into a bedroom closet that backs onto the kitchen wall where the microwave is installed. I'm not sure how much signal degradation there is. I own an Archer AXE5400 as well as a DECO M9 Plus 2 unit Mesh units. I don't have any WIFI 6E devices yet. Do you know of a detailed installation video with the detailed router settings to create a MESH network. I have ethernet capability in the office area which is the farthest area from the router closet. Apologies for the long description.

To be honest if you are using a TP-Link Deco system you should not need a standard router. Just place the Deco's evenly throughout the house as you can and you should be golden. At that point each device will use the Deco that offers the best WiFi signal. Myself I have the TP-Link W4500 Mesh system that comes with 3 devices. One of them is at one end of the home with the broadband modem which is where my desktop is located which is wired to that Deco. The other two Deco's are placed evenly throughout the house as I could and my WiFi signal's are great so is the speeds. Got quite a few smart devices like light bulbs plus other things and they tend to connect to the closest Deco.

I am struggling to get 70mbps on my Sky ISP, Meant to be superfast as well I think, lol, So I got the TP-Link AX3000 AX55 Router, For the VR, I am a Sim Racer who races online in AMS 2, But when there is a bust track of cars, Then I am getting stuttering going on, Making my gaming crap, I have issues with Virtual Desktop wireless, And I am paying for a Sky WiFi booster too, lol, I rang Sky earlier to be told I have to wait for an engineer to get a Router I bought working, lol, It is nuts, Why can't I just plug the Router in and it work like the Sky router does, I got the Router tether working on my phone so the Router is configured but it is not letting the ISP connection go through to the Router, I can't even fix it on the Sky help thing or self fix part, I tried by no luck, I am gutted coz the Sim Racing helps with Anxiety I suffer from, But when the Sim racing isn't very smooth and it stutters it makes me look like a terrible driver when I am not, lol, 6.06 in the MP4 McLaren on the Nordsliefe in AMS 2 ain't too shabby, Just the online experience isn't up to scratch, Why Sky is still using old tech in the routers is being me, WiFi 7 is coming soon, And Sky still rolls out 5ghrtz, Not even WiFi 6, They would charge extra for that lol, Sky does an upgrade on the Routers but you needs certain package, I cannot get, lol, So this Router is my only option, lol, What would be the problem where the ISP light isn't coming on, Or internet isn't coming into the Router when everything is set up how I think it should be, lol..... Is there any vids of people fixing connection issues why Sky as the ISP provider, Who uses Open Reach, That is fixing the issue of no internet coming into the Router,. I have internet but not with the AX3000 AX55 Archer Router, lol, Can anyone help me fix my connection problems, Or have I got to wait for an Engineer to sort it out....
