Of course I know it's not going to speed up my system. but I just use it after I uninstall a bunch of programs, particularly when I have to force-delete parts of the program that wouldn't uninstall properly, like Norton, Photoshop, malware, etc.. I switched from CCleaner to Glary Utilities a few years ago- I'd love to see a really good comparison. Glary is not as polished, but has more features and gives better control of what it does. I made the switch because of rumblings about CCleaner vulnerabilities and to get away from Avast - which had annoyed me as a antivirus, so I switched to AVG - only to have that be taken over by Avast - necessitating my migrating to Bitdefender. So Avast acquiring Piriform was enough for me to look for a CCleaner alternative. Glary does the job pretty well, but I don't know if it is really better - I'd love to see a match up.

I'm not a CCLeaner fan but there is one feature I use a lot. I work in IT & a frequent problem our organization has is shared desktops accumulating too many user profiles & running out of space. I start with a disk cleanup including system files, then start deleting profiles that Windows lists as "Account Unknown" (old defunct account that Windows can't identify the SID in AD anymore). Then I look up the remaining profiles in AD & see which ones are explicitly terminated & delete those. But sometimes even this doesn't score me back much space. CCLeaner Pro has a feature though which will scour through all the remaining profiles, though, & clear out all their caches & temp files without having to drill out into every profile & locate each folder individually, & that usually helps a bunch, for a while at least. I've also had people tell me afterward the computer runs quicker. That feature is only in the pro version, though, so I install the trial version temporarily & make sure to back it out when I'm done.
