Gee my whole life if I had to vac up something as large as a jelly bean I would pull the hose off the vac and suck it up...then put the hose back on and continue to vac the floor...why is it so important to be able to suck up large stuff like items jelly beans..I am more concerned about the vacuum being able to suck up all the fine dirt and dust on the floors.. and if the vacuum is sealed enough that it doesn't blow dust particles back into the air while vacuuming the floor.

I agree with Frank, I would of done the same thing using the pull off hose for the Jelly beans. Our house is fairly clean all the time except for accumulated dust on the carpets and wood floors.

You have to clean the front roller after some time if you have alot of pet hair as the hair gets stuck above the combs and behind the soft roller

Thats a great vacuum and if you have kids with Legos it is not going to get sucked up, or hot wheel cars. I just got a pretty much new one. Neighbors moved out and put it on the curb for garbage pickup. Still has stickers on it. I imagine it was for vacuuming up as the house sold. New people did not want it. So I snagged it. Peace! Was in a pile that said free. Everything was taken accept for the vacuum. Lucky me.

The difference with the Dyson... you'll have to change heads from carpet to hard floor. Shark you don't. Shark makes up for any pull with jelly beans with Dyson for that alone. I hate time consuming with attachments and heads. Sharks number one because of it, plus it's got plenty of suction for the average home owner. You don't need to suck the dust off the moon, just the average Jos floor. You compare Dyson to Shark and in time consumption alone Shark will come out top by a mile, their cordless is lighter and you don't have to hold the power button the whole time. I really don't get why Dyson gets so much attention just because they produced the first vacuum with real suction. Since then... lots of vacuums compete with that. It's ridiculous paying Dyson prices on the reputation that comes from over 15 years ago. They've got real competition now and Shark is one of the top contenders. Me, give me a Shark any day over a Dyson! I turn it on and go... no heads to change, no need to get different attachments... just the vacuum... time saved, job easy. Less money. No contest.

Glad I watched; I needed an upright with a wider suction path from opening to container bin, and it's clear this vac can't swallow anything larger than a rice grain.

I think you are the first one to figure out Shark duo cleans kryptonite... Jellybeans! Too slippery for that front roll. Cool to see. See if the Dyson can.

I have this vacuum and it has no problems with a lot of bigger objects including jelly beans you might have to switch the top slider to full volume which is all the way forward because if you put the slider all the way to the back that is to do drapes and anything that would suck up very easily so when I put my slider all the way forward it sucked up the jelly beans and anything else very easy. I don't know if that is your problem but if it's not then you have a problem with the suction either you did not click each of the items and properly for a perfect seal or something is wrong with the vacuum

I think you may have a tonne of rice between the seal and the bin, reducing the suction/airflow at the head 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hmmm, there's also alot of rice sat at the bottom of the actual cyclone unit, which would usually be spun out into the bin, suggesting that there might be an air leak somewhere in the system

We just ordered this vacuum from Amazon and can't wait for it to arrive! I'm a diehard Panasonic Upright fan (a great little vacuum for 1/4 the cost) but with six parrots and a rabbit I need something that will pick up parrot kibble and dust. The Panasonic is not designed for this kind of workload (and I have long hair, so yes---hair around the brush roller issue). We moved from a house that was 80% carpet and 20% tile to a house that is 80% laminate floor and 20% carpet, so it was time for a change. Parrot kibble is nowhere the size of jelly beans, so not disappointed on that score. Besides, I'd rather not pick up parrot TOYS on the floor, lol

I have this vacuum, the reason for this is that the jelly beans are too large to fit past the 2nd brush and into the vacuum... I'm not sure about its predecessor but I'd guess having such a small gap is one of the ways they managed to get more suction. Still a great vacuum.

I hate the power fins. I have a rocket and the robot with the power fins and they are horrible. They don’t pick anything up and when they do it gets stuck in the built in teeth. Shark went backwards after zero m.

I have no problem sucking up jelly beans with my shark Apex you need to push the top leather all the way to the front so it's at its full suction and you will have no problem picking up anything that's why you're having the problem

@@RobertBeedle @Rob Beedle Love it, it's a powerhouse and light enough to do the stairs without issue. I find it extremely difficult to find any meaningful flaws in this vacuum, but I'll throw some issues I have with it. The pet hair removal attachment works extremely well (for cats) but it is tiny at only 3 1/8" width. So as your can imagine, during shedding season it takes quite awhile to do a large sofa. The build quality is good but it's so light that I feel like I'll break it. After 4 months the wheels/swivel area started to creak, it did not impact performance in any way but was annoying enough that I applied wd40... However it was never loud enough to hear when the vacuum was on. The versatility (with or without attachments) and performance are fantastic. While it's expensive, it's one of the few items that I have no regrets buying. Vacuums wars reviewed the new model (Stratos) as well which is barely improved. Whichever model you decide to get, these are expensive and shark typically runs sales this time of year so it's worth being patient on to save some money.

The biggest problem with the AZ2002 it that you cannot open the brushroll cover to get to the new fin brushroll. I've had mine for a month and a small rock is stuck in the brushroller and won't allow it to move. Luckily I shut it off in time so I didn't burn out the motor. I spent a couple hours searching online how to open the cover after looking through the manual and studying the power head and didn't find an answer. Then I contacted Shark on facebook and someone from Shark answered that there is no way to open the cover, and if I tried to unscrew what looks like allen wrench screws that attach the cover it would void my warranty. So I guess I'm supposed to throw my new $420+ vacuum away Shark took off the easy open method for it's brushroll cover and won't help me figure out how to get the small rock from my brushroller. Suggestions appreciated

I sympathize with your problem - which I assume never got fixed. As for me, I give up. I've spent the past 3 days reviewing one vacuum after another, gradually increasing the price along the way. I FINALLY thought that this Shark was the way to go until I read the above comment. Why would I want to spend $420+ and have no way of accessing the fin brush-roll???? In 2009, I bought a Shark Infinity Pet Navigator for $160. It has metal parts (as opposed to plastic ones), and the suction on it STILL does an excellent job. Only a couple of gradual breakdowns over the years have forced me to look for a new one. But the more I look, the more I think I may jerry-rig my 2009 Infinity, and stop this ridiculous waste of time.

The brushes are for deeper carpet and the other brush that is kind of a plastic is to rip up the hair so you don't have to clean it and pull it off the roller or use a razor blade itself cleaning
