You forgot to add some other differences: The Apex has a light on the end of the handle so you can see better when you're edging or using attachments. The Apex also has a "garage door"for accessing the brush roller from the top. The Vertex model Shark left those two features out. Also the pet power brush that comes with both of these when buying the true pet version is not motorized like the one they sell separately on their site, it's vacuum-driven. I really wanted to get the Vertex to upgrade bin size but leaving out the featuress I mentioned above that the Apex has, changed my mind. Also the clear bin on the Vertex, looks worse after usage then the smoke bin on the Apex. I'm hoping when they go for round 3 of the duo clean that they will make some of these changes and have all this in one machine, along with the longer cord 😁

I've had my vertex 5 weeks now. 3 women in the house with butt length thick black hair. Needless to say I vacuum up a ton of hair every week(think the size of a softball). I've never had even a single hair get wrapped around the brushroll. I do however leave it on carpet mode most of the time so the brushroll spins faster. This is the only reason I upgraded from the n800. I was cutting soo much hair from it every single time I vacuumed the house. The apex has those teeth that some are having problems with breaking off so I went with the Vertex. Couldn't be more pleased.

@ModernCastle3 жыл бұрын
@@halfmoongh Just double checked the vacuum in person, you're right. It does not have an off switch for the brushroll. Both brushrolls still spin, but the carpet brushroll spins slower than it does on carpet cleaning modes. Though the idea that this vacuum is going to fling debris around is misleading. The whole idea of the open face soft roller brush is to capture debris on hard surfaces before it can be flung away.

Apex has a light on the handle (which is actually very useful). Vertex doesn't. Apex is able to open garage head and clean up the brush rollers. Vertex just has a slight increase in suction that doesn't make that much of difference in everyday real world use. Apex is cheaper new and used. Conclusion Apex is a better choice. For the price of one vertex you can almost get 3 Apexs. And I've bought a used Apex for 200 even 150. Save your money get the Apex.
@ModernCastle3 жыл бұрын
You are looking at other models. Apex is not 3X more expensive than Vertex. Within the last several weeks if you were buying them new they price has been between $0 and $50 difference. The models featured in this video are the Shark Vertex DuoClean upright and Shark APEX DuoClean upright.
