It looks like huge step in the right direction. For me, they didn't have to include vaccum. I don't mind two separate robots if they do their respective jobs well. I wish it had internal water tank instead, that would let you control the waterflow and how wet the pads are and just use the base to clean the pads from time to time and refill the internal tank. Also, with incasing base like that, they could inlude uv ligt for desinfecting the pads. I suppose that I can wait and maybe they will do some of it in the future models :). Great tip with presoaking the stains - I do that too :). Could you show the app a little more?

The base station is absolutely genius, its taken it from being a minor thing to housing multiple functions as well as having an amazing feature of keeping the vacuum IN it so its not sticking out like an ugly toe. I think this could cause a change in the market, the next step would be going from separating the components of mopping and vacuuming to having the base station automate the process, swap the tools then go back on a new scheduled run.

*DON'T DO IT!* I have been following this since their crowdfunding 2 yrs ago, and this was a major complaint the early birds have had...no cleaning solution options. They invented their own, and for a reason. Regular cleaners break the machine. The complaint then became that people couldn't clean properly without the proprietary solution and they kept running out of stock. It poses a huge issue. They actually vaguely reference this in the description of their cleaning solution: shop.narwal.com/collections/accessories/products/overseas-solid-floor-cleaning-piece . If you don't want to buy this solution, next best option is super low foam cleaner at low concentrations -- but this still voids your warranty apparently (they call it "human damage"). Slippery slope, as I saw a few people note that they used only the narwal cleaner yet the company accused them of using a different cleaner and voiding the warranty, so this is a huge red flag to me, especially with a unit that costs people over $1k.

No, because you need to use their proprietary cleaning sheets. And they don’t clean well with out it, and using anything else will most likely break it. Add in its shortcomings with mapping and lidar (robots in lower price tiers do better) and it’s high price, unless you’re an early adopter who buys gadgets constantly id avoid it.

One problem i have with your reviews you spend to much time on how well the machine maps and not enough on usefulness of the machine itself. Having a robot that maps well isn't going to help anyone if it can't get the job done not fitting under or around furniture. I have several pieces with very limited floor clearance that roomba barely fits under. Why not into ladir the dome would stop it from doing full job that is why you need to run more test in real world surroundings. Reason on my 320 i use swifter wet pads that have scrub strip, i postion the scrub strip on the back so when braava does back/forth pattern it wets then run scrub strip twice over it. Try to get yourself braava 320 and run it.
@AdamsReviews3 жыл бұрын
FYI. This one actually fits under my couch and my roborock does not...however the roborock has a pressure sensor on the lidar so it if hits the couch at all it will back away. This Narwal does not so it will almost force itself under but is able to get back out.
@kinglord54293 жыл бұрын
@@AdamsReviews yes i did notice this has much lower profile than other lidar machines as for roborock if it can't fit under your couch what good is it and what other furniture will not fit under. Fast and accurate map isn't going to keep your house clean. This would be better if the come up with more abrasive pad design
@acharletta3 жыл бұрын
Good review Adam but as you have said you have yet to find a vacuum robot that can do the job. I believe the closest is the iLife 450 but they never took the design to its logical conclusion with a lower, wider profile, lidar mapping, etc. Until someone comes out with a mopping robot that washes and picks up the dirty water from my floors, I will keep using my Hoover FloorMate® Deluxe Hard Floor Cleaner and it does a fantastic job on tile and hardwood floors. Yes it is corded and you have to push it around but only costs $129 but it gets the job done.
