@Shintah07 wap is abbreviated for wireless access point which is a device. wifi is the technology that uses radio frequencies to provide a wireless local area network.

@remmy100 WPA2 - Personal/Enterprise. Although, not all devices support all encryption types. Suggestion: start with WPA - TKIP/WPA2 - AES and move down in encryption until all devices can connect. Use the highest possible Encryption for all devices connected. Side Note: WPA - TKIP = WPA / WPA - AES = WPA2

Depends how far you are from access point, also that could be security risk too - because if you didn't encrypted with WEP1 or WEP2 (which is my recommendation!) you AP , then almost anybody can connect to you AP without any problems, so it's most important that you ecrypt you AP with WEP1 or WEP2 based keys - because WPA is too weak, and WPA can be hacked without any problems. 1.WPA2 is the improved version of WPA 2.WPA only supports TKIP encryption while WPA2 supports AES 3.Theoretically, WPA2 is not hackable while WPA is 4.WPA2 requires more processing power than WPA
