Feels like downgrade. Same 720g as 7 pro, no glass back this time and that awful dare to leap. No stereo speaker this time, downgrade selfie camera. Downgrade charging from 65 to 50w. And also no 120hz as we were expecting. Literally other than 108mp gimmick it's a downgrade to it's predecessor in so many ways. Redmi note 10 pro is much better this time

I purchased the 7 Pro recently. The 7 Pro is easier on the eye and has stereo speakers. Remaining hardware is pretty much identical. I can live without a bumped up camera. Definately not regretting my decision considering I forked out €230 for it.

I have the 7 Pro. It has stereo speakers. This one doesn't, crazy. Doesn't seem much of an upgrade, except the camera maybe. But I'm happy with the 64mp and the 32mp selfie camera. 7 Pro seems better.

Chris !, bought a realme 8 and tried digging the LCD info , but it did not have any details about the manufacturer; and date of manufacture, this is really puts a question on the brand's legit , and further that bloody slogan "dare to leap" pushing over customer's money is STOOPING !, and AOD is just there ! no customization for £249 its really a shortfall Yet the h/w and performance is super engineered!, BUT no LCD Info , can you talk on this , Thanks mate !

Great review Chris! If you own the 7 Pro, then, like you said, the upgrade isn't worth it. Even someone who's looking for a new handset could have a look at the 7 Pro as well. Camera's are a slight upgrade and you have the newest RealmeUI 2.0 (Realme 7 Pro is expected to get the update in Q2 2021). But the 7 Pro charges faster (65W instead of the 50W here at the 8 Pro) and has a much nicer design (that's subjective of course, but stil!). Since the processor, screensize and -quality haven't been upgraded, I'm sorry to have to admit that this fresh 8 Pro isn't what I would have loved it to be (allthough it's good to see they didn't got over the 6.4 inches, that's just as big as a phone should get in my opinion (allright, maybe 6.55 is the maximum)). Hope they make up for it with the 9 (Pro) later this year ;-)

List of DEAL BREAKERS: 1.Same old processor with no 5g 2.That big ugly chin that reminds me of thanos. 3.Lack of higher refresh rate OLED panel. 4.Downgrade in charging speed from 65 to 50W 5.No stereo speakers(again downgrade) 6.Downgrade in front camera 7.Plastic back 8.That ugly DARE TO LEAP 9.Unnecessary 108MP camera (we all know 12MP sensors of devices like pixel 4a and iphone produce better images. ) Realme 8 Pro is almost a complete downgrade in every aspect. Was looking forward to buying it for its UI but thanks to Redmi Note 10 Pro for redefining value for money.

Yeah, my realme 7 pro's in-display fingerprint is not that great too, you can use it but it not that good. I just disable it and use faceid and a easy pattern to unlock it.
