So smart to include the dock. Lack of awareness and lack of accessories for DeX are a huge reason why it hasn't gained more attention. If I hadn't just gotten a Note 10+ I'd have a serious look at this G100. Great stuff from Moto.

I like that they are taking a step in the right direction. That is a pretty compelling package overall, maybe soon we can get a better display with slightly higher refresh rate. The docking feature is rather neat, i could see it being amazing on a drawing tablet with a built in touch screen.

Hopefully Motorola has solved the screen blurring issues and color bleed with the 90hz refresh. My Moto edge plus doesn't have it anymore on the newest update. My phone exhibited color bleeding, double spots of icons, double lettering and green tint. Five replacements later it's doing fine. Love Motorola but they need to get it right before sending these phones out.

I ordered this phone last week after looking at reviews. I got it in the mail today. So far the phone is ok the only con I have so far is the front facing camera taking selfies inside is not good it's distorted and the selfies don't come out clear like the Samsung a325g phone I have. For a phone being almost $400 the camera quality should be better.

I am a sucker for that near-stock Android experience. I'd buy a device just for that. Only two drawbacks for me on this; - LCD IPS display. I love the 90Hz refresh rate but I'm not sure about brightness levels - Are the power button/Volume rockers on MJ? Why are they so high?? This would have been a perfect budget recommendation for me.

I would highly go with a LCD IPS display, They can be viewed much better in daylight, And you don't have screen burn in problems that you get on AMOLED/OLED devices when using higher brightness and sat on still images for prolong time. Image will not be amazing as so, But you still get pretty great colors and sharpness. Higher up buttons make it less likely they'll impact the middle hand holding performance, So your hand won't be hitting them when holding the phone from the middle, As most try to hold it near the bottom to avoid hitting the rockers,etc.

Excellent review! I really like the Dock feature, it's about time phone manufacturers took advantage of this. Does everything come in the bundle or is it possible to buy everything separately? It's a shame that Motorola don't fit stereo speakers. It's the one thing I really appreciate, that and a 1080p (or better) screen; it's the one thing that keeps me with the Pixel phones.

Coming off of a 2016 phone (LG V20), this is the one I'm currently set on buying (still looking and searching). Back then, I had to worry about having the option to change my batteries myself. Now, I have to put a cross on that and my current struggle is getting a headphone jack. So : headphone jack + a decent processor (at least 870)... Micro SD is a very nice bonus.

In the end, I got a Poco F3 (256gb). Brand new for half the price of the Moto. Same processor (870). Headphone jack and SD was just not worth the 400 additionnal $.

If you want the Ready for system, yes. Ready for is only for motorola's flagship phones and this. Aka Edge+ and G100/Edge-S. Since their 800series chips and the only ones that support HDMI output from the usb port on the phone (besides Razr's.).

If you can justify the price difference, G100 is better. In the UK, It's double the price of the Moto G 5G Plus. Not worth it to me.

I suffered MIUI a bit longer than two years with the Xiaomi Mi 9. Never again. I bought the g100 4 days ago and couln't be happier. NOTHING beats stock android. Just because of that, I'd rather pay more for the g100 instead of the F3. The g100's screen might not be an amoled one, but honestly I can't tell much of a practical difference.

Most of motorolas phones sadly don't. Besides this and their Edge+ (not the normal Edge). But desktop mode is also on the Edge+ which has SD865. This will just be a fraction faster then that.
