Reviewing the Ayaneo Slide, a Windows gaming handheld with a built-in keyboard, including full unboxing and testing out the AAA gameplay. This is one of the first portable gamers of 2024, and the Ayaneo Slide can smash through even intensive games on higher graphics settings with that AMD 7840U performance. Here's a full tour including benchmarking and my gaming experiences so far.
Check out my reviews of the other best gaming handhelds right now, including the Steam Deck, ROG Ally and Legion Go.
Compared with those machines, the Ayaneo Slide is actually quite compact despite its sliding screen and keyboard. That 6-inch screen is an IPS panel rather than AMOLED and a mere 60Hz display, but it's sharp and bright enough to get gaming even in quite bright conditions.
That battery life is awful, as with most Windows handheld gaming devices. However, the Ayaneo Slide does pack impressive power, to keep games like Forza 5 and Doom Eternal playing with a fluid frame rate even on high detail settings.
