I really enjoy the progress on these vacuum robots. I hope one day they manage to reduce the maintenance so for example at the charging station water tanks get filled up automatically. Cleaning pads are changed from a dispenser and obviously dirt is removed as some do today.

I have the first generation (no mope) and it does not bounce side to side. It has the laser that makes all the mapping before cleaning. The app itself is identical and can only select some cleaning area if wanted. Best money I spent. Really helps saving time on cleaning.

If the air filter is washable means is EPA not HEPA. sad thing for allergics. The only xiaomi vacuum model that includes HEPA is the v1, and does not have mopping feature

I got the S5 Max recently and I found a few downsides in it. Firstly, the rubber side brush can easily get stuck in carpet with long hair. I destroyed one arm of the brush at the first cleaning. If you have carpets with long hair I'd suggest buying "normal" side brush with hair. The other problem that I have is that the main brush is creating strange noise that is louder than the sunction on lower power levels. Does your vacuum create the same noise or is it only mine?

Not so great. I place it in the middle between S5 and S5 Max. Althoug it has an improved mopping function, it has less features compared with S5 (less battery, no carpet mode which I find very usefull, bad designed dust been which leaks some bigger garbage peaces) and S5 Max (all mencioned before plus not possible to set no mopping zones, so less usefull mopping function).

yep, there is a firmware with rooms, no-go zones, etc. still it's missing no-mop zones (ignore fact that this s5 mop is pretty weak). it's not on every country - but You can always go china mainland just for update, or load it with flolevac app without changing anything.

I have Roborock s5 MAX. Water seems to be leaking from the water tank. I try to look for replacements for the water tank filters, but so far I only see parts for S5, not S5 Max. Are they compatible? It's all right if you don't have black carpets. It doesn't go through the black areas of the carpets. Interestingly, there is no review that uses carpets with black areas. I had to return two units until I was told to tape the optical sensors......

I have an S5 Max. It is a GREAT vacuum robot. But it doesn't mop worth a damn. I paid a LOT extra for the mopping feature, and boy am I disappointed. The Max really does not "mop" at all. All it does is drag a slightly damp cloth across the floor and pick up what little dust the vacuum has missed. If your floor really needs mopping, you're better off with a Swiffer. At least a Swiffer can use a cleaning solution and can scrub. The Max has to use water -- anything else might corrode the system. And it does no scrubbing. As I understand it, the S4 has all the navigation features of the Max, more suction, but no mopping -- and a MUCH lower price. Unless you really want your floors dusted after vacuuming, you'd be better off buying the S4 and saving the money.
