I just ordered the mate 30 from shenjen after much struggles with their payment system, then i just remembered a huawei issue. Huawei phones tend to DIM when using none huawei apps like chrome, fedly, facebook etc. PlS, did you notice that in your MATE 30?

Yep, I knew its was gimmicky. I'll take the flat one any day compare to a non practical capacitive screen button. Plus a 3.5mm. But still, not a major upgrade from the p30 pro, plus it still has the Google play. xD still rocking with it.

Another quality review here! I'm really wondering how these devices are gonna hold up over the months. If there is a stable play store workaround for it, it will be super interesting for the techies out there. Not the average consumer though, they'll find it too fishy to install it.

Yeah I was looking for a new phone 1:1 C&F. I think the only other company that has phone like that is LG but I could be wrong. Have you seen what Google did with the new Pixel 4 hahaha super ugly outdated design completely non symmetrical. The best IMO is a flat display with all around same size bezel and no notch or hole punch!

Returning back to using my mate 30 after getting it repaired. And i must say that aside from not having a 120hrz screen refresh rate, everything in it is way better than other midrange phone of today, april 2024.

Try and get your hands on an Oppo Reno Ace or Realme X2 pro. I think they're essentially the same phone but they have impressive specs for the price (855+, 90hz, 3.5mm, microSD, AMOLED). The Oppo has crazy 30 min full charge (4000mah). Only thing is I'd prefer full screen notchless display but I guess the teardrop notch is still better than what the Mate 30 has going on here.

The Reno Ace is more or less the Oneplus 7t with faster charging. The Realme X2 pro probably will have the 64mp camera sensor as the main one but basically the same as well. The group basically released more or less the same phone under 3 different brands

no but it has raise to wake fuction like iphone and it works really well, to lock without button you can add a widget to homescreen or you can use nova launcher , it has double tap to sleep.

answer to both questions is YES - Double tap to wake + Raise to wake. There is a widget that enables by pressing it to SCREEN LOCK the phone by clicking / tapping it

The poor video won't be corrected with an update. The p30 pro has the same exact issue. It records in a variable framerate. No single clip will have a consistent framerate. No two clips will have the same starting framerate. That's one reason why it's never smooth looking for long and can randomly look choppy, even in bright sunlight and with the resolution set to 1080p30 or something artificially low and easy on the processor. It doesn't try to properly synch the electronic shutter with the chosen framerate. The conversion is haphazard and faulty. And dear god if you try to import the video into a simple video editor that doesn't understand the half baked variable framerates. Your output will always be a slideshow. Even uploading it directly to KZbin their transcoders are baffled and you still end up with some jerk. I think most huawei users are either blind, ignorant or stupid if they haven't realized their phone has piss poor video.
