We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzbin.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

In terms of sound quality, JBL offers comparatively a better experience. I like the compact design of this speaker as well - it is surprising the mediatek powered this though.

Loving the sound quality but how to get it to audio-alert on low battery? The battery indicator is at the rear of the speaker whereas other status indicators are at the front. It would be ideal if there was an announcement either directly from the speaker or via Google Assistant.

I like JBL Link Music. The audio quality of the device is so good and powered by the Mediatek chipset, the Google Assistant support is also so prompt.

Not sure if this info helps but, I downloaded google home on iPhone and done exactly what I needed to do with connecting it via wifi etc, I used a hotspot from a different phone as wifi doing it. After finally connecting it all through the app, the Bluetooth was able to connect afterwards.

Can someone help me?My speaker was working fine until 20 minutes when it shut off and I couldn’t connect to Bluetooth any more,When I turn it on,it shuts off after 5 seconds of turning it on.Its fully charged because the bar is full when I put it on the portable charger.It doesn’t even find the JBL when I put find devices

Can you connect two speakers in stereo mode? You obviously can make a group in google home app and play same thing on both speakers. But does it work in stereo mode as 2 google nest speakers can?

I just got this speaker, it seems that after a few hours it shuts itself off while sitting on the dock, making google not available. I then have to restart the speaker and it takes a while to turn google on again. Is this normal? I figured sitting on the dock would keep the speaker on 24/7.

That is definitely not normal. I'd first make sure you have "Google Assistant Always On" setting saved. If that's already working, then you may have a faulty charging dock.

@@jonfranch2838 Interesting, I just went into the Google Home app, clicked on a device, and then clicked on settings. I could not find it either. Wondering if this is a software update change. Regardless, your speaker should not be turning itself off if it's on the charging dock. Is there a power-saving setting that you might have enabled?

The speaker is bluetooth enabled so it should connect directly. We've never tired this method before without first setting it up through Google Home. Obviously if you are using it in your car, it won't be connected to the Internet and will be slaved off of the audio playing on your phone. Hope that helps a bit.

How does this compare to JBL Link Music or Google Nest Audio sound quality wise?

Jbl link music has better highs and clarity, link portable has better bass and soundstage at the cost of some missing high frequencies (clarity). The latter is meant for most consumers, since most want bass. I like the former, but the latter is more usable and unique being portable google & airplay speaker. Nest audio I never had.

Great to hear. After using this for almost a year, we can say that we really enjoy it. Only problem we found is that the Google assistant has a hard time hearing you if you are more than 10 feet away or if there is a lot of ambient noise in the room.
