Great convo! I will say, one thing about comparing persistence in job hunting to dating is a person is typically expected to be persistent in their role and go above and beyond, so one thing I find it hard to understand is why a recruiter would see it as desperate that a person wants to work there and is eager to communicate that. (Not typically my style, and don’t think overstepping communication boundaries in the interviewing stage is good, however, I see many instances of these being the types of people being the same ones managers love and the ones who typically thriving in the work place, so that’s a tough one)

Phenomenal information. I wish I would have known this since this first started. I worked for a company who made not only mine but a few others lives miserable. I strongly believe it was racially motivated. A group of 6 of us recently went to the EEOC and even though we had solid complaints against an operations manager the EEOC folded and left us to hang and the company (Alutiiq) retaliated against us. I strongly believe they hired this white woman as a DEI and has destroyed the company's mission statement and what it meant to actually have worked there. Very unfortunate.

I have worked over 30+ jobs since I been 18 and I am 32 now. Personally I would rather work for myself than under a company who considers you a number rather than a asset. Climbing a corporate ladder doesn't benefit nor excite me.

@@TechTualChatter That’s how I feel too. But at the point in my life I don’t even worry about the number of jobs I had in the past. My main focus is just working on myself to pursue the work I would want to do in order to advance my finances. Plus multiple streams of income in dividends that can last me for a lifetime. I truly believe there’s too much money in this world to be settling for less. I want to get back into tech just don’t know what and where but I done my research so far.
