Good vid. Straight to the point with good description. 👍

Hey guys, fantastic job on the video. Lots of good info, and can’t wait to see one with your stages in person. Would like to correct you on the AV gas comment though. There is ZERO de-icing agents, or alcohol or ethanol in any aviation gasoline based fuel. ZERO NONE ZIP. No aviation gasoline engine, or fuel system on certified aircraft has ever been designed for ethanol or alcohol fuel additives. Ethanol or alcohol would destroy fuel tank bladders, and various fuel system seals and o-rings that were never designed for it. All it has added is lead. The lead will over time cause deposits in the engine, and is very hard on O2 sensors. Your info saying it’s “dry” is a myth and very wrong. The myth comes from aviation fuel needing to be free of water and moisture. Water in your fuel on takeoff could be deadly. Hence why we pilots sump/drain all the low points in the tanks and fuel system of an airplane before we even start the engine to make sure the fuel is free of water, aka “dry”. The low amounts of lead are to make the fuel less prone to detonate at higher altitudes, and also be safe for boosted engines since many aviation engines are turboed or supercharged. Some old radials even have both, but were designed for the no longer available 130 octane AV gas. I am a second generation Cropduster, commercial pilot, and an owner in an aviation business that’s operated both piston, and turbine engines for over 40 years. The only aviation fuel that will ever have a winter or cold weather additive is JET A, which is like a kerosene, or highly refined diesel. That additive is called “prist”. It’s a fuel system icing inhibitor. The fuel retailer has to ask the pilot if they want Jet A with prist added or disclose to them that their tank has prist added. You wouldn’t make it far on your sled if you put in kerosene. 😂 I’ve safely run straight 100LL on 2strokes up to 12psi of boost at altitude, and 21psi on a turbo Nytro for years without ever having one failure due to detonation, or because it’s “dry” . I’ve safely run straight 100LL in 2 and 4 stroke bikes, quads, sleds, and race cars for years. There is zero issues with AV gas mixing with 2 stroke oils in pre-mix or oil injection systems. Have I had to replace lots of AFR gauge O2 sensors? Heck yea lol The lead trashes them. Keep building cool stuff!

Nothing like 100LL running in an allison 501k gas turbine!

Is this for Turbo models only? Will it work or you have a tune for non turbo 850 ?
@BikemanPerformance2 жыл бұрын
we have tunes for almost every model. Turbo and NA

Gentlemen, I have a Turbo 175 coming...and true to my highly tuned LMM Duramax mentality, after seeing this...I'd like to see the torque curves and compare them to stock...***TRANSLATION***...Very interested.

hey, i am ordering a torque tuner for my 850 turbo in a few minutes, but i was wondering if i can "re tune" my sled. example if i start with the 10 hp and i found out that i want to have 20 extra hp, is that something i can do without buying a license again?
@BikemanPerformance2 жыл бұрын
Once you buy a Torque Link License and it's applied to a vin, you can swap between tunes as you build your sleds performance or just want more power. Switching between tune levels is included under license purchase.

I know this gets beat to death regarding the warranty status, so appreciate that answer! I would, however, like to know if it can reasonably be expected that a Doo mechanic (not a corporate Engineer person) hooks up BUDS software, something tells him it's been flashed, and now they're denying your broken clutch. I get what I deserve if I blow a head gasket, grenade pistons from detonation, etc. But I've not heard yet if you can expect a sled to be flagged by BUDS and have your blanket warranty voided even if nothing's gone wrong or it has nothing to do with the engine itself. Another question, can recall/Service Bulletin updates to the ECU be done once it's flashed?

I’d like to know the answer to this as well

i can say iv connected buds to can ams and cannot tell if they been flashed or not. however depending the flash sometimes they are locked B&H Supreme Small Engines

Just wanted to add a thank you for info I didn't know about 100ll and 110ll fuel. I dont need high octane fuel but liked to learn more about fuel in general.

Actually, there is never any alcohol added to certified 100LL (or any avgas) for many reasons (see web.archive.org/web/20120112232824/www.energy-consumers-edge.com/faa-ethanol-safety.html) In fact, certified 100LL from any supplier will be some of the most consistent fuel that anyone could use as it must have a specific density and composition for weight balancing and performance in aviation use. It doesn't mean it's the best for sled use or for Bikeman tunes, but his comments regarding "de-icer" are not correct. Also, I've not heard of or seen 110LL

Yes sorry Bikeman is mistaken. Please see my comment.

If I download or flash stage three to my 2020 850 turbo and I want to change it to either stage 2 or stage 4 after riding it how do I do so?
@bulletben56703 жыл бұрын
I’d imagine you just do the process over again
@ovidiu073 жыл бұрын
You can switch between stages whenever you want. License that you purcahse will bind with your ECU. Since you will be flashing the same ECU you can do it as many times as you want. I tested it :)
