Hey so for my first ride of the year I started up my sled 17 850 and it was bogging out, no power, and back firing a lot. Talked to my uncles who are lifetime skidoo make shift mechanics and they said yeah you plugs are probably trash. I searched how to change spark plug on 850 skidoo and this was the first video that popped up. You honestly made it so easy understand how to fix. I am no mechanic and learning how to work on these 850s by trial and error. I followed and watching this video step by step. Very easy to follow and overall just very informative. Sled is running great now after I switched it. You did a great job of explaining how to index the spark plugs. Thank you for putting this up without it, I would have been lost. Look forward to seeing the content you post in the future. Skidoo couldn’t have made it harder to replace these spark plugs with how tight it is in there but this was very helpful thank you!!!!!

How much luck did you have getting those pliers on the right spark plug? The pto side is the easy side.

Just changed these on my 2022 Lynx Rave. I was having a heck of a time getting a torque wrench in there. What I found got me just enough room was to loosen the top steering post mount. This will let you move the steering post to the exhaust side and torque both plugs from the top side of the engine.

Thanks for this video! I have about 1000 miles on my 850 Summit SP . It is a 2018… I have never changed the plugs. This year on start up my sled is bogging… kinda dying too. Then it gets going and has power.. but I think my plugs are due for a change. This video will help me!

Probably a result of bad old fuel. These plugs are rated to last a very long time

I'm having that same issue right now. Did you get your sled going again ? What was the correct fix ? Edit: I did drain my old fuel and replaced with 94 octane but no results with that

@@jfrosa437 I am changing the plugs now… I have new fuel in it. Getting the plugs in and out is not so bad. Trying to torque them is another thing.. IDK see how it’s possible.

@@kelleyrogers8107 that is also what I did. Got 2 new plugs and also a fuel filter for peace of mind. My dealership tech was the one to tell me not to worry too much about torque... he says what is really important is that they are indexed correctly, and proper torque should be right there.

I understand about the indexed plugs but what if they don’t line up properly after torquing them? How do you fix it? Can’t leave the plug loose 😅. I figure that’s why the plugs cost more so they are threaded right

Trying to torque the plugs seems impossible without taking the airbox out? Is it that critical as long the index mark lines up?
