Yes we can save our ocean, by imposing strict fish quotas, and making sure that they dont dump their bet in the sea. Stop subsidise fishing industry. And we as consumers we need to reduce or stop eating fish as we as consumers have this power in our hands, we need to act now.

I remember when I first started supporting 4ocean and they seemed to be the only company around trying to save our oceans. Then I heard about the ocean cleanup and wanted to support them as well. Now I am happy to see that there are so many other companies that are cleaning up our oceans and it is bringing me such great joy! Thank you to all of these genius companies who saw a necessity and took it upon themselves to make a difference for our world and our future!

It is really important to note that these are reactive solutions and not proactive. They reactively help pick out the rubbish from seas and rivers wonderfully. They are half the battle as we need to also invest in structural changes that help developing economies that don't have adequate waste management systems. The scale of the amount of plastic entering our seas and rivers is so vast that small scale removal programs aren't able to make a dent. Having both reactive and proactice solutions are necessary in this battle. So don't think donating to reactive solutions is enough, vote in politicians who will look at infrasture etc.

Maybe implement legislation that forces developed countries for recycling their own waste, rather than allowing private companies from exporting to developing countries. Also companies like coca-cola should be responsible for the cost of recycling their plastic bottles, this should not be something that they can pass on to municipalities or the consumer.

Great to see people trying to save our oceans. If we could do the same for the rest of our planet, maybe the human race will survive, but I'm not holding my breath. Other KZbin channels are documenting various efforts (which are becoming more successful) to replace plastics with (for example) biodegradble materials that can be cheaper and work better for some uses. Then others are (on their own) using small scale systems to convert plastics to fuel or recycle plastics into other useful items - at a reasonable cost. Many different approaches are being used to the plastic pollution problem. Which is what is needed. Some need only be scaled up to have a serious impact.

It's not economical to have a waste sorting crew on board. All the extra weight on the boat means more energy to propel the boat and less payload that can be brought on land. A hydro generator needs to be ankered at the bottom to use the energy of the water current to generate electricity. I'm also sceptical about a closed-loop incinerator that could fit on a small boat like this and produce enough energy to propel that boat. So the rendering is original but the thermodynamic behind the project deserve an F.
