Hey for that computer with the usb 3.0 header in the way of the gpu. Look for a usb 3.0 male to female angled adapter online. Just make sure you pay close attention to which side the notch in the header is facing on the motherboard so the adapter doesn't hit a sata cable or ram.. Most people sell two different adapters. It should give you enough clearance to install the gpu and the usb 3.0 header. Unless it is some weird OEM header. The part is a little bit cheapo, spruce it up a bit with some insulation. One trick I use to insulate wider parts is I use a 3/8" or 10 mm piece of heat shrink, make one cut long ways so it looks like a piece of electrical tape. To find out how long of a piece you need wrap it around the part loosely so you can slide it on and off. Just make sure you have enough overlap to adhere the ends of the strip together. Mix up a bit of two part epoxy and use it to adhere the heat shrink ends, let cure 24 hours and you should be able to slide it over the part with the cut ends (ugly side) down. Once it looks good you can use a hair dryer, lighter, small torch, etc to shrink it in place. The spot with the epoxy won't shrink a whole lot, that's why I call it the ugly side. XD As a side note, I wouldn't use super glue as an adhesive, I've had mixed results when heating it. Sometimes it holds, sometimes it just gives it up under the heat and tension. Most two part epoxy handles heat pretty well.

I bought some carbon 3-D vinyl-adhesive rolls off of eBay (for car exteriors) and used a gloss-gray carbon color scheme on a DELL T5600 side panel. Spruced it up quite nicely. Takes the boring office look to a nicer level, though it does forego the RGB-bling factor. Also covers up any scratches on that panel. Just my opinion.

Thought I'd let you know I found an X58 with i7-980X and triple channel 12GB DDR3 in the garbage the other day. Gave it the old Tech Yes spec clean and it booted just fine! Keep up the good stuff mate... and maybe buy a station wagon for all those top deals!

Hey Bryan, that Prodesk usb 3.0 internal connector is a common issue regarding fitting a normal size graphics card. What you need is a low profile connector.

Wouldn't an angled USB header 'just' get away with allowing the gravis card to clear past it? You can normally find these 90° headers for less that $3 on fleabay. Just make sure you get the right version (down not up) so as not to bump into the ram....you might loose those initial three sata ports however facing down.

Recently picked up a Acer AMD E1 based dual-core PC-a SFF XC-230 with a E1-7010 APU, Radeon R# integrated graphics and Win 10 for $313 from Domayne. Put in a ASUS R5 230 GPU, not too problems getting it working, BIOS and signal wise, though Windows is a bit fussy with legacy Radeon drivers for non-GCN architecture AMD GPUs.

22:05 - Is it possible that used GPU prices have gone up precisely because new prices have been jacked up so much? Where I live in the UK, a typical seller still has the 2080 Ti for well over 1000 UKP, 2080 Super for more than 700 UKP, 2080 for about 650+, 2070 Super for 500+, 2070 for 470+, 2060 Super for 400+, 2060 for 320+, 1660Ti for 260+, 1660 for 210+, RX 5700 fpr 330+, RX 5700XT for 380+, Vega56 for 270, RX 570 for 134+ and the RX 580 8GB for 160+. The NVIDIA x60 series used to be midrange, way back the EVGA GTX 460 v2 was 115 UKP. Prices have not just doubled, they've tripled in some cases. It's insane. Thus, hardly a wonder someone selling a used card looks at all this and thinks well heck, list my old card for more since they latest new stuff is so expensive. Maybe there are other reasons, but certainly in the past I've seen correlations between pricing and availability in the new market and what happens in the used market.

Currently running a HP Z420 with an E5-1650 v2, 128GB PC3-14900R, and a 1080, I can sustain 4.3Ghz on all 6 cores under stress and it'll boost up to 4.5Ghz 1080 overcooked as far as it can and it's currently the only bottleneck for the system at 1440p, payed £800 so far, very happy with the result.

Trying to get a graphics card working in a SFF Acer Aspire XC-230-tried a Gigabyte GT710 with the XC-230’s bundled 65W laptop style AC adapter (no internal PSU) , PC powered on but no signal. Specs: www.acer.com/ac/en/AU/content/model/DT.B61SA.001 Acer suggested ordering a 90W AC adapter from their spare parts distributor-would a R5 230 work using Acer’s 65W external power supply or try the GT710 with a 90W power supply (external, laptop style)?
