Surely if the one I mentioned in the video does not satisfy your curiosity on the price, only Tecno can give you the additional information you require. Pen size, I mentioned it and compared it to a regular sized pen. As for the vlog function, that I didn't talk about but it's a feature, you click, it shows options, and you film with them as it suits you. HDR, the specs sheet didn't mention and I had no way of testing that.

Samsung's only works on the internal display too. I guess it's not that simple to have it work on both

The reason why is because for it to work, the screen needs to have an additional touch layer for stylus support. That's why only the internal screen supports the stylus.​@@izziboye

The reason why the newer iPhones can run this AI software is not because of the processor; it's the RAM. The 15 series and 14 series didn't have enough RAM to run it; iPhones need at least 8GB of fast RAM to handle it.

Tecno should've used the Dimensity 8300 or 9200 instead. Transsion doesn't use Qualcomm and the Dimensity 9300 might've been over budget.

One thing that would always be clear is the camera performance. Whilst it's good, when you compare it to even older foldables from mainstream flagship brands, you start to realise that tecno still has quite some work to do. The s24, if I'm not mistaken, offers better camera performance and is way cheaper than the v fold 2.

Agreed on that. But note that someone looking for a foldable won't be seeking a slab phone as an alternative. So S24 is not the alternative but rather a Samsung Fold either the more expensive new ones or used (which I advise against for the lack of warranty but is solid if you get a good one)

@@izziboye it's already been a while since I used a Techno phone, but I remember i didn't like it for general lackluster customisation ability for one, I didn't like the icons, didn't like the UI, etc. It kind of had that "look" that I now dub the "Chinese look" because I stupidly switched to a Redmi and am suffering the same. Accent color settings legit didn't work, the OS was also a little restrictive, not allowing you to change some system settings for no reason, and not allowing you to uninstall certain apps as well. I always felt like Chinese devs should strive to let their OSes be as simple as possible while also being as customisable as possible. Allow full access to the camera api so people can use 3rd party camera apps, allow people to change accent colors all around the UI, like in quick settings, allow people to use whatever 3rd party launcher they want without knee-capping its features or performance, allow apps to run in the ducking background, give your UI and first party apps more character, across manufacturers, they all look the same, and to Xiaomi especially, if I change an accessibility or developer setting, do not force me to wait 10 seconds to approve the setting I just changed, or at least give me the ability to turn off the stupid warnings 👍 Material Theming doesn't even work well in MIUI/HyperOS on Android 14 which is horrendous

Tecno keeps pushing its limits and making phones interesting again, but I think they lost a good opportunity here with Phantom V Fold2. Comparing specs, V Fold2 seems like a "Pro" version of the first V Fold. All upgrades presented in V Fold2 are obviously very nice, like bigger battery, faster charging solutions and in special, stylus support, but they decided to keep Dimensity 9000+ instead of taking a step further with, at least Dimensity 9200, to make it on par with current generations of foldables.

Tecno did all this and made a good phone, the mediatek dimensity 9000 is faster than the tensor g4 in the google pixel 9 , pro and 9 pro fold. AI isn't innovation, tecno knows this, this is better foldable than Samsung fold 6, excluding only the chipset in the samsung.

Great work by techno but I still don't get why I'll pay 1000$ for a phone or foldable using mediatek dimensity chip???? Samsung's own has it downsides too. Not discrediting tecno but the market has shifted in a way that even most big phones(Xiaomi included) use snapdragon the latest in the chip set for Android OS. So it seems kind of strange to be paying that huge money for phones that aren't using the latest chip sets which you definitely know will have cut backs in areas like camera and software optimization especially if you are an heavy user or game person.

I’m not a fan Tecno, never been, never used their device But Dimensity chipsets are just as good as other flagship chipsets from Qualcomm, although the latter benefits from better optimization. That said, this device is barely half the price of Samsung’s, and it’s equipped with a free open and plenty of accessories. The comparison isn’t fair You’ll need about 3m to get the latest Samsung fold

Actually the "big brands" are using Mediatek too and you'll only find Snapdragon on their highest ends. If you find Snapdragon on midrange, they're not available globally (Xiaomi especially). Samsung A55, A35, A25 - Exynos (everything below it is Mediatek except the A05s with Snapdragon 680) Redmi Note 13 Series - All Mediatek except the Note 13 (Snapdragon 680) Xiaomi 13T and upcoming 14T - Mediatek Samsung's upcoming flagship Tab S10 series - Mediatek. I think you should give Mediatek more credit

I will correct you on the following besides Samsung and techno you forgot the Chinese foldable honor the magic V3. That one also uses a pen on the screen. So Samsung and techno are not the only ones with pen support as for the phone. I do like the way it looks I find the camera better looking because it will prevent the phone from rocking on a table but having all that good stuff you mentioned on the phone. Is it worth it? If you're only getting 2 years of Android OS updates with technos skin on top because this foldable is $1,099 which is still expensive for certain people and the fact that you only get two years of always updates and in my opinion should have come with last year's Gen 2 Snapdragon instead of The Wanted currently has would have made the phone much better and faster this for people that like to keep their phones longer could be a hard pass because most people nowadays like to keep their phone more than 2 years.
