Well done :-D When you pointed out the pwm drive side of the psu, i thought ahh switchmode evil lol. Startup cap/output caps/diodes/pwm chip or really odd failures that would need 3 mugs of tea to work it out, ok 4 mugs :-D. And when you tested one of the diodes, beeeeeeeeeep great a dead diode :-D I was hoping that was the only problem, and it was :-D

Great job Mate, Trying to find the appropriate SMD components can be a pain. At the moment I am trying to repair a G Scan 1 and looking for a SMD diode with a code 35 on the body. Have come up with several options, but want to make the correct choice - any suggestions? I have no schematic, but I also have another working G Scan and the diode is measuring a voltage drop of 0.15V on the working circuit board.

I'd take the diode off the working on and put it in the dead one to see if works. Is it in a power supply section? Any fast schottky rectifier is probably fine then, wouldn't be passing more than 2A. Does one side of it go to ground, even if through a resistor on either side? If so it could be a zener so check the voltage on the cathode of the working unit, might give you an idea of what it regulates at. You probably can't go too wrong :)

I have a Teco L510 that has the ES emergency stop error flashing on the display, pressing the reset button does nothing. Is their anyway to reset this thing, or is it bricked?
@JonnyFix
@JonnyFix 2 жыл бұрын
No idea sorry. Why would you jump to bricked? Did you do a firmware update right before this problem? IF not, and without looking at the user manual, I assume it has an ES input to be able to be stopped remotely. I would be checking the input circuitry and make sure it's ok and there's nothing causing the processor to wrongly think there is a signal here... for a start.

First of all, thanks for responding. Half way through my response to you, I stopped and decided to mess around with the vfd, connecting a wire between the Com/+12 and the inputs, trying each one, S5 to S1, I couldn't remember which input I had the estop connected to. I thought it was either S5 or S4. That is the only two I ever checked before. It turns out it was S4. When I turned the power on, after connecting the wire, it reset! If you didn't mention the ES inputs, I would have never figured it out. Thanks!

I made a stupid mistake today. I was not fully awake, and connected the input voltage to the output :/ Now it will not work properley. I know what the fault is. Some resistors burned. I think they are in paralell with the output MOSFETS. At least they are close to them. I will try to fix later, but do you have any tips? :P
@JonnyFix
@JonnyFix Жыл бұрын
None specifically. Replace what fried. If the mosfets are shorted check the gate resistor isn't blown open/high resitance either. If they are bad check to the next component back and so on. There might be a transistor feeding the gate resistor etc. If that all checks out cross ya fingers! Maybe don't put a load on it, just fire it up and see if the output is ok by itself.

Hello Sir or Madam, My name is Phonesavanh VORACHIT. I’m electrical control In Vientiane Laos PDR. I have some questions to ask you about TECO Westinghouse E510-415-H3FN4S-U. Because we bought some TECO Westinghouse E510-415-H3FN4S-U for spare part. Before Last couple year we have TECO Westinghouse MA7200 now it has broken. So we try to connect PLC Allen Bradly 830 to TECO Westinghouse E510-415-H3FN4S-U but it cannot connected to the PLC. Do you have any suggestions to find out solution that problem? Or do you have any information about Parameters to connect to PLC.
@JonnyFix
@JonnyFix 2 жыл бұрын
No idea, I've never used one. Looks complicated just reading the user manuals. Right away, the MA7200 refers to a memory map with addresses to access certain controls. It also refers to a 'profibus' as a hardware protocol. Maybe the PLC is configured to talk in profibus not modbus, the E510 uses modbus. Lots of work for you to do to re-configure the PLC.
