For the switch opener u only need to push down on the switch. No need use the other half of the opener to push it down. Because this style of opener - a half is for outemu/akko style switch. Another half is for gateron/cherry style

All comes down to preference. I didn't change the switches for this keyboard but I have another one with lubed Gateron Yellows and I love it. Akko makes good switches as well, got to try out their linear sakura switches. Might get them in the future.
