The whole argument about more oil productio in usa driving down inflation significantly is bogus. Having worked and retired from an oil company here are some facts 1. We are already producing oil at record levels with no major impact to inflation 2. Oil is traded globally. Oil prices in usa are dependent on global prices. If Exxon or Chevron produce 1M bbl per day more they will sell whoever gives highest price in world. 3 if USA produces 1M bpd more OPEC can cut production by same amount to maintain prices 4. If prices drop much more, companies may not do additional drilling in USA. 5. Big bottleneck in usa is refining Agree it can create some jobs. Even that is uncertain. USA has achieved highest oil production with fewer workers Sorry to burst the bubble with some facts

If you never drove a truck for a living, shipped a truckload of something across the country, shipped a container of goods from China to the u s etc you probably have no idea what a fuel surcharge is or how they work and how they effect the price of products when they're legally passed on to consumers to prevent shippers from going bankrupt.when the surcharge goes up it's tacked onto the products and the price goes up.when the surcharge goes down it has to be removed from the product and the price goes down.ive seen a 700.00 shipping bill with 1,000.00 fuel surcharge making it a 1,700.00 shipping bill.a container was being shipped from China for 3,000.00 in 2020 it's now 15,000.00.someone has to pay the difference and it won't be the store or the shippers because they'd go under.lower the price of fuel and energy and everything else will follow.
