Not having kids at home makes a big difference because there’s nothing to fight about. We have separate bank accounts also so we don’t fight about money. We both knew we didn’t want any more kids so we made that clear at the very beginning. Plus when I was dating, I made my own rule that I would never date a man who had kids at home. They had to be adults and moved out like mine. It’s a pretty sweet deal.

Used the same paediatrician as Mary in New York over 30 years ago. Chatted to her in the waiting room and she was warm, friendly, unstarry, a delight.
