You sound like an Oldhat fan dude, all we can watch is how they are booked. We can't control that, the reason why they are booked bad in other feds is because vince or whatever wrestler is an outsider to that fed so they aren't going to get the same treatment as a homegrown talent. Look at Cody rhodes for example a family of ex wcw guys and aew losing to vince's pet project roman reigns. If guys are favored in nwa over the e then we'll they are discriminating with hindering there potential by not being an nwa guy by the same token

It pains me to say it but I agree. I loooove flair and his gimmick with Rhodes might be the greatest rilvary of all time. But MDM…he might be the greatest heel of all time…and his wrestling was some of the best of that time.

Ted in MidSouth is even better than 88. His early 80s before and after the heel turn on JYD is great stuff. Promos were spot on, his in-ring was without equal, and he could work with brawlers, scientific guys, carry newbs, or out-wrestle the best. I would have loved to see matches with Ted as champion vs Ricky Steamboat, Kerry Von Erich, Magnum TA, Dr. Death (his former partner!), and Barry Windham.

Lots of people did. Well, not "lots", but they had more people who could do the job than spots available. DiBiase could have done it in the ring, but not many people would have liked the travelling champion lifestyle that made them spend over 300 days a year on the road. For that, you have to be a little crazy.

I think Ric's in-ring work would be better suited for the time before nationwide most of the matches were televised. Seeing him do his bump over the turnbuckles before running on the apron and getting caught coming off a neighboring top turnbuckle is great the first time you see it. It is not great after seeing it countless times.

2:24 He hit the nail on the head there. MDM was one of the greatest gimmicks of all time, so legendary that people mostly remember that instead of Ted's ring work. That's a shame, because I remember him being very fluid in the ring and also an excellent seller. One time he took an atomic drop from Virgil and sold it so well that I still, to this day, cringe when I recall how painful it looked.

Growing up watching Mid-South Wrestling. I can easily agree that Ted Dibiase was at least as good as Ric Flair. Ted's weapon before turning heel was the figure-four; I remember Ted was the one who was credited with breaking/injuring the Grappler's leg. Whereas the Grappler started wearing the orthopedic boot. When Ted turned heel, he used the loaded glove. No doubt, it was major when Flair came to town. He gave the fans their money's worth.

No disrespect intended (incoming disrespect) but... As a 80s WWF kid the idea of Ric Flair was always better than actual Ric Flair. I knew Him and Sting from the wrestling mags but when Flair came to WWF i didnt get it.. He felt like the bootleg Hogan. He got this massive push but i didnt believe he was on Hulk, Macho, Warrior, Sid, Bret Harts level.. Hell he seemed like he was WWF Inter Continental contender level.. Rick Rude and Jake shouldve got the push over him.. Ric Flair felt like he shouldve been mid card wrestling Greg Valentine or Dino Bravo.. As far as Ted Dibiase. One of the best heels ever.. I was 100% invested in seeing him lose.. Million Dollar Man, Ravishing Rick Rude and HHH top 3 heels. When Andre sold the belt to MDM? Mega Powers vs Mega Bucks? Iconic.

I mean he was a revolutionary promo cutter, and really elevated the bar in terms of wrestling personas. Before Flair, most wrestling personalities were rather stiff, monotone talkers, or mainly just comedic. Flair almost single-handily changed the nature of promos, how they were composed, etc........If you watched promos from the 60's and 70's......and then watch a range of them from the 80's and 90's. He was the biggest reason for the change. It even directly rubbed off on 80s WWF. Guys like Hogan started taking on very animated personalities. That was the Flair effect

I was just re watching all the old wrestlers yesterday and then again today and I came across the Million Dollar Man theme song I thought how demonic it actually sounded and then I read a post in the comments that Ted is a preacher now then I found a 5 year old video of him giving a testimony and preaching I couldn't believe it because I could actually resonate with most of which he said as I myself just came out of a 20 year nightmare fuelled not just by an abundance of money but also the pride & ego as well or as Ted says EGO = Edging God Out which makes sense. I won't bother typing my testimony except to say when I was done I was DONE it was all over on April 19th 2023 I blew $250,000 (CDN) gambling and now the devil took his money back just as he gives with his right hand he takes it back with his left I was a complete fool. Anyway, I repented at 40 I just turned 41, Ted said in the video he was a teenager up till he was 38 thats exactly how I felt as well right around there and I had all the same perks as he did except the fame but I had tons of women, money, and just like he said "by the grace of God I didn't become addicted to drugs or alcohol" and low and behold by that exact grace I myself was able to get out of a very dangerous lifestyle and have no addictions what so ever yet I dealt with all these illicit substances daily and nightly pretty sure that gives a good idea of what I was up to with out elaborating any further. Crazy how Ric flair survived all he did, wrestling is actually a very dangerous lifestyle I have cone to realize even though it may be fake the people themselves are definitely not fake and so many of them died young just like with what I was doing lots of people died or went to prison. Thanks for sharing your testimony Ted, like you I also lost my dad (step dad) to a heart attack when I was 12 and I believe you said you were 15 it is unbelievable how similar our testimonies are in the sense of we both went down a dark path for 20 years I still remember buying the super nintendo wrestling game and seeing all the $ $ $ signs come up when you came into the royal rumble lol. Grace and blessings to you. 🙏✝

The belt flair brang with him didnt mean anything to me which is a shame looking back now. So to me Flair was just a normal wrestler who was still amazing but just didnt have what Ted had back then. Will say, from what ive seen of wcw from back then, me and my mates sure missed out though!

To me, flair gets the nod. Ted is up there but Flair was a god in the 80s. Ted is definitely top 20 but no where near Ric Flair.

And over all Ted was better , yes Nature Boy is great but Ted took a character MILLION DOLLAR MAN and made it great , and if WCW had Ted as the man behind the NWO it might have been even better and he keeps playing THE MILLION DOLLAR MAN.

While I despise Ted Dibiase for being a predatory grifter and parasite he's easily as good as Flair as neither ones performance is predicated upon appearing as a technical wrestler. They both are basically brawlers that can take bumps and have a passable working punch. They both are far better than Hogan in that regard.

IMO Ted's in ring ability and mic skills were both superior to Flairs ... Flair was way way overrated .. same four move match set every time .... Ted could mix it up and do different matches each and every time

Ted was as good as Flair. But until WWF, he COULD NOT TALK TO SAVE HIS LIFE !!!! But as a "worker" ? Ted was equal to Flair easily......

Come on, he was boring in the ring. Was there even a single memorable or celebrated Dibiase match? Flair has dozens of great matches under his belt.

Flair's in-ring work was overrated in my opinion. Props for his insane cardio, but I always found his matches derivative, same-y and goofy.

Million dollar man was always better than flair. Flair always did the same thing in every match. Million dollar man matches were way better and his gimmick was better too! Flair ripped his whole gimmick from Gorgeous George.

Don't be modest, sir. You were most certainly NOT on equal level as Ric Flair. You were better in every conceivable category. Promo work? Check. You didn't just scream like a lunatic. Ring work? Double check. You didn't wrestle the same match for 40 years. Entertainment value? Check. You were the ultimate "Lex Luthor/Norman Osborn type heel" for the 1980's. Marketability? Well let me just say this: Are you aware of the fact that people still dress as you for Halloween? lol
