I got to see both Ted's Dibiase and Terry Taylor's debut in Mid South. those were the days. I also saw Dick Murdock give Bill Watts the brain buster and then Bill Watts give him the Oklahoma stampede.

I grew up in the Leroy McGerk / Bill Watts Mid-South. It seems like everyone how worked there went on to become legends! and Ted was the "HEAD CHEESE" and leader of the RAT PACK, it was "AWESOME" !!!!!!!!!

There is a reason mid south had a almost cult following. They tried to make it as realistic as possible. Watts slap on cornette for example. The slap was real but planned in advance. Everything always looked so good . Great story lines , great athletes.

Didn't care for his "Million Dollar Man" WWF stuff. Thought he was great in St. Louis, Georgia and Mid-South/UWF

Same here, he will always be "the Crippler" Ted Dibiase.

Indeed, that Million Dollar man gimmick was too cartoonish and foolish for a man of his caliber.

Tri-State wrestling was great too. Watts was the booker and star, but not the controlling owner. Same basic territory.

Watts renegotiated contracts lon WCW like Jake Roberts, Steiners etc. His $$ gain? A portion of the savings.

Never was a Big fan of Ted Dibiase after he left Mid South Wrestling! The million dollar man bullshit was just that bullshit!!!
@PunkSlapper1233 жыл бұрын
Well, the Million Dollar Man was a heel. He really wasn't supposed to have many fans. The Million Dollar Man is regarded as one of the best heels all time. You don't have to love the gimmick but Dibiase was still a great worker. He was great in the ring and on the mic. The guy used to draw unbelievable heat throwing around cash with his valet, Virgil. Dibiase was great during his Mid South/NWA days but the Million Dollar Man will always be an infamous character in wrestling history.

@@PunkSlapper123 Yeah but if you we're like me new it was just a show as a kid , and pulled for the heels like he was in MId South it pissed you off when he took the big bucks and shit on us. Piss on the WWF
