DAMN, last time I seen Larry he looked a helluva lot younger than this. Can't believe that much time has passed since WCW died.

It's almost the Industry Handshake impersonation since the Ring veterans were more likely to have known Jim Barnett personally. Whereas both Fans and Wrestlers could easily mimic Dusty Rhodes having watched him a zillion times on TV and live in person. Most infamously Terry Taylor jumps to mind...😂🤣🎤🎧🤼♂️B.W.

The thing about Watts was he was a good promoter . His view was to run a promotion with ex athletes and be their Coach . Fining people , firing if you lost a fight etc... all out of collegiate coaching . But Zbyszko is right Bill took things too far .
@maths237 жыл бұрын
Blacques Jacques Les Squacques That one of the reason why Ron Simmons was the first black heavyweight champion in wcw. Ron had an outstanding football career in college he was an all American he was known for being insanely strong and tough. Bottom line if you was a former sport player or was known for being tough than Bill will push you.

Bill Watts is like the coach you had in high school that would just ride your fuckin' ass and ride you, and you just hated him... then when you were about 30, you realized that guy really knew his shit and saw IN YOU much more than you yourself realized you were capable.
@killerjoe95247 жыл бұрын
tony93666 But he wasn't a high school football coach dealing with teenage kids. He was a grown man who got his rocks off from using his position of authority to be abusive to other grown men, and I have yet to hear one of those grown men thank him for treating them like shit.

The one thing that irked me about Bill Watts was his anti Roberto Duran "no mas" comments during his time in Mid South Wrestling. Bill does not know that the Hands Of Stone is loved in his native Panama where he has a sports arena named in his honor which used to be called New Panama Gymnasium. I know since I was born in Ancon Panama and learned at an early age to avoid stepping on toes about political leaders down there.

I was strictly a Mid Atlantic and Georgia Championship Wrestling fan growing up in the South, but you gotta give Bruno respect. He cared about the WWWF, the fans, his friends and the business itself. He protected himself and his image at the same time. He always maintained his credibility and integrity as a man.

I do not blame you since if he was in Panama mocking Roberto Duran over that bout with Sugar Ray Leonard, he would be kicked out of there faster than you can say The Flash since many Panamanians have never forgotten the mistreatment from the Americans living in the Canal Zone.

I have no clue why Bill Watts gets so much flack? The shows he was in charge of aside from The Monday Night Wars and The Original IV Horsemen days were the best shows they ever did. Oh Wah Wah People cant jump off the top rope. Name me one person who ever saw one of those 3 Ric Flair Ricky Steamboat classics that ever thought"Eh This Match Is Ok But It Would Be So Much Better If Someone Jumped Off The Top Rope"? Ridiculous.
@TheHannibalTV6 жыл бұрын
Because Bill Watts was in a position where he hired and fired people so anyone in those type of positions for long periods of time are always going to have some people bashing them. I personally think his accomplishments are amazing and he was a very smart guy. Some say he even purposely got fired from WCW because there was a clause in his contract that they would still have to pay him out if he was fired.
@arthurprior34946 жыл бұрын

You must not be as old as I am. When I was 12, and the biggest mark in 3 counties, Zbyszko had so much heat he could have roasted a turkey in his ASS. It was insane. He bought the National title from Tim Brooks on Georgia TV, Bob Geigel came down and stripped him of the belt after a couple weeks, they held a tournament for the belt, and Zbyszko shadied his way into winning the belt in the tournament final. People went nuts. Nobody gets heat like that anymore.
