Always loved hacksaw Jim! The 2x4 and hearing the "Hoooooooooo" always let me know there was going to be an entertaining match.

Duggan and DiBiase are so interesting, Duggan is 4 days older than Diabiase and Duggan was only 4 kg heavier, and is 2" taller when they were wrestling in their primes. Yet you look at them and it feels like Duggan was far bigger based on his style.

Three questions that need to be covered: 1. Ted's use of the brass knuckle in Mid South. 2. Anything about Houston promoter, Paul Boesch 3. Stories about Tom and Bruce Prichard, especially in Houston.

Hacksaw. Was a brawler. Ted was a technician. 🤼‍♀️. 👋

Ted's comments about being a rugged heel turning into a baby face also works in reverse. If you're considered a rough and tumble babyface you can also be a good heel. Magnum T.A. would have been a fantastic heel, the guy never smiled, he always had that rugged scowl on his face, he would have been terrific as a bad guy.

I don't know if y'all knew Jim duggan was part owners at a golf course in Clermont Florida, the picture stoudemire from the St Louis Cardinals, so we did quite well for, that two-by-four was something else.

hacksaw was a pretty big star for like 10, upper mid card during the boom, so no surprise there.

@@hw5091 Yeah it was crazy how popular he was here in Europe during the wrestling boom. He even had a single in the UK music charts, something no other wrestler managed to do. Just goes to show that charisma and a good personality, a good gimmick (even if the whole USA USA thing was extremely simplistic and one-dimensional, it worked obviously) and mic skills are way more important than in-ring skills.

I was already very off wrestling when steve austin became a big star, i tried watching but didnt get him, i like the "stone cold" name tho n i think that really helped make him a bigger star imo.

When Austin came in with Chris Adams, he was a face, but they turned him on Adams after a short time. I agree with the comment about the fans turning a tough guy heel into a face because they like tough guys, and when they tough guy begins to beat on the heels, even better. Happened to Demolition, too.

There was also that brilliant underlying working-man V entitled snob angle with Ted and Jim which added a nice frisson.

More like WWF's expansion and its killing of the territories, Bankrupt Bischoff and Vince Russo.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan was my least favorite wrestler of all time. I always hated every time his match came on. He was one of the few wrestlers I just had zero interest in.
