Thank you for reviewing the original TLPH. An 80s scent, but one of my favorites for fall/winter business casual-office use the past 3 years. I love it!! Can't believe you reviewed it. It means a lot when you review a cheap fragrance that you think so highly of still. My bottle is from 2016...but I bought it in 2018. Five sprays lasts me 8 glorious hours. I will always have it my collection. You're the best Sebastian!!

Ted Lapidus Sport is pretty unique. It's a highly floral fragrance with a pinch of marine. The thing that makes it off putting is that most detergents nowadays are highly floral so there's a smell associations between cleaning solution and floral scents (which is why there are few floral heavy men's fragrances). It smells like offices used to in the 2000's (even modern cleaning solutions are favoring aquatic notes over floral). It doesn't objectively smell bad, but the smell association is unfortunate. I really like it, but I would still welcome a true reformulation that adds pepper or stronger aquatic notes or maybe a complex set of citrus notes. Yes, that would make it less unique, but it would also mean that it would be brought into the modern era.

I absolutely LOVE this scent. It's so beautiful and powerful. Brings back many happy memories of summer in love. A little goes a LONG way and will def be noticed. I'd say a Spring/Summer scent that is fresh, delicious, approachable, friendly. I did take a break for a decade but recently bought it again and it's just as wonderful as when I first bought it. For me, it's like wearing a spicy lilac floral aroma. It is VERY different from anything else I have ever owned over the years. Good lord, even for the price, one could use it as a room freshener (which I have done!) I would now (from knowing so much more about fragrences) mix just a little of Lapidus with something else that was a touch more spicy. I'm one to mix and match my scents and try different things. You can't go wrong for the price. Use it sparingly, don't over spary this one.

Just got the Sport. After the first ten minutes, it smells almost identical to Creed's Orange Spice. I'm comparing my two bottles, very close. And it stays that way for about seven hours. The first ten minutes? Kind of Kouros with a weird fresh-floral element, which some say is akin to Kouros Fraicheur. Can't comment because I've never smelled that one.

Absolutely love Pour Homme. Never tried the flankers as all the reviews I've read or seen say the same that they're nowhere near as good as the OG. Very easy to get online here in England. Usually costs about £17 boxed. I will always have a bottle in my collection.👍👍

What stands out for me in Lapidus Pour Homme is the pineapple note. The one other thing I would say about it is "Don't overspray!" My grown daughter made me scrub one time when she thought I did. I would be curious about what you think of ExciTED, which I think has also been sold as Blueted. It has a kumquat note in the top which gives it an unusual (to me at least) vibe.

I purchased a bottle of Lapidus P.H. in, about, Oct. 2020 and tried it for the first time; I can like it somewhat. I think that some of my older male relatives were wearing it in the late 80's/early 90's. I'm glad that I know what it's like; it does help me have a better understanding of fragrance history. I don't know if I'll buy another bottle of it; I enjoy, very much, a lot of the classic fragrances, but it does seem like something, at least most, people wouldn't wear past the year 1992. I don't know why certain people say that it's manly when it smells similar to tropical fruit punch and, like a, powdery-minty rose. It was interesting to hear what you think about it though. I take Givenchy's "Xeryus" a lot more seriously than I do Lapidus P.H.

Your review might have moved a few bottles because as of this writing at the end of March 2021, Fragrancenet is sold out of Lapidus Pour Homme. A few people on Fragrantica are stating they get incense in the dry down of Black Extreme. Do you sense that? I'm surprised you didn't pick up what I consider Lapidus' classiest fragrance and that's Altamir. Try Black Soul Imperial, too. You're correct about Lapidus now being part of the Jacques Bogart Group. They bought the brand in 1995. Before that, Lapidus had an arrangement with L'Oreal.

Sport version is an amazing geranium bomb that has watery notes, and lasts an EON ! It’s great on its own, but the beauty of this scent is that you can layer it with many other mediocre performing, great smelling scents to add a twist and double the performance. Is it an acquired smell, maybe? However, once you understand it, you will keep coming back to it.
