They did a great job of setting up Isaac as captain throughout the season. He offers Nate a spot on the bench beside him in one episode and tells a teammate to put away his phone during movie night, and both times, Roy is in the background, observing him.
@FrankFreezy_4 ай бұрын
I love that the show drops important hints like that. Roy didn’t just make him captain out of nowhere.

it's such a devastating moment when they lose but as a viewer you Are proud of jamie and his growth, making the extra pass, and then you're reminded of his situation with his dad and it just hurts even more Again

Perfectly said. Proud of him indeed

I love that they don’t just win. They really don’t take the easy story telling route.
@FrankFreezy_4 ай бұрын
Absolutely. Usually in a scenario like this, the team ends up winning and having that somewhat happy ending. But Ted Lasso is not like other shows and I love it.
@panamafloyd14694 ай бұрын
Yeah. Somehow, it's more satisfying because it seems more realistic somehow.

One nice touch about Ted giving Jaime the toy soldier is, when Ted was giving one to Sam, Jaime was there and heard the whole thing. So his little smile and then sort of hiding it was a great subtle(?) response to finally realizing... "not everyone is out to get me"

And that it was a soldier with binoculars as if to say "I see you"

I like that Jamie’s army man is using binoculars.. to help him find his way. ❤

What a true actor. Sticking with the act.

I'm not sure if someone else explained Isaac counting to 12 and leaving out the number 8, but that is the position that Roy plays on the team ( not his shirt number, the actual position as a midfielder) so he is still technically counting the tean in.

That makes sense. Thanks for explaining that

Not until watching the Ted Lasso reactions from people residing outside of the USA, did I realize that the "A tie is like kissing your sister" saying is uniquely American. It is a common sports adage used to reflect on the unsatisfying result of ending a game/match with a tie. Thanks for the great reaction

That is so interesting. Thanks for explaining it. I didn’t even no phrase until this episode. And thank you for watching.

At 5:39 you nailed it, it really was unscripted and Jason Sudeikis(Teds actor) accidentally hit his head real bad and there was lots of blood and stiches needed so Hannah Waddingham's(Rebecca) look of horror is legit! Love all your reactions man but especially this series as of late. Keep up the great work! 👍

I absolutely love that there was no fairy tale ending to the season. The show is about life and life doesn't just work out the way you want all the time.

When he jumps and hits his head on the top of the door frame he actually busted his head open and needed stitches
@kentgrady92264 ай бұрын
5:58 Yes, he improvised that scene, as well as several others over the course of the series. Sudeikas's professional background is in improv comedy. Most of the physical comedy and many of the non sequitur one liners were never in the script.

I don't know if you've mentioned or have known this but Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) is a writer on the show. He was hired as a writer and ended up self-taping scenes to audition for the role and got it.

"He missed one" - Isaac skipped #8 on purpose. It's the number of Roy's position on the field, so he skipped it to honor him as the former captain.

Born/raised US (real) football fan here. Meaning of the phrase Ted used before the Man City game: Good News: kissed a girl! Bad News: doesn't really count. (because..well, you know) 😆

I don't know if you'll see this at this point, I am going to finish you responding to this show no matter what, of course, but I DID see on your patreon, and I have to let you know Jurassic Park, is hands down my Favorite franchise of all time. And I would LOVE LOVE LOVE watching YOUR response to it. I will wait around as long as it takes for you to watch it. & I'm going to keep supporting you. Thanks for this, you give me as much hope as Ted himself does. I have watched a lot of reactions, but I LOVE your responses. Thank you so Much. I appreciate you.
