Wonderful review. One thing that stood out to me was Nate repairing the "Believe" sign with gold paint. This is the Japanese art of Kintsugi. The philosophy behind it shows us accepting fragility, building strength and resilience, and taking pride in the imperfect.

Absolutely loved the little detail of Mae straightening the Geronimo picture at the bar. A little callback to Jason Sudeikis' Uncle who played Norm on cheers. It was the last thing Sam Malone did at the end of the series, in honour of the character coach that died while doing the show. Just a beautiful little touch, that I really loved. Perfect finale.

Then in the morning as she was getting ready to leave she asked “Did We???” He said Noooo then when she left he said to himself. Yes WE did. I don’t know why he didn’t tell her they did. Maybe to make her not feel guilty or like it said anything bad about her. But yes they did they just didn’t show it on camera. Why else do you think that they made her arc this last season about becoming a Mom. They couldn’t spoil it by saying she was going to be a stepmother. They had to make us think the one night stand made her pregnant.

My interpretation of Nate at the very end is that he actually returns to being an assistant coach under Roy which to me, is absolutely perfect because it signifies that Nate learned what he really wanted was to feel needed and be happy and he has that in both his personal and professional lives.

Nates redemption was wasted IMO. He should have stayed at West Ham and grown more disillusioned,with Rupert, and stood up to him when tried to order Jamie taken out of the match. Him coming back to Richmond essentially reset him to season 1 Nate

@@buhgunga6808 I like to think he laid the groundwork for everyone else to construct their story of turning the AFC Richmond team / family into a team /family that wins it all (on the field and in life). Rebecca, Nate, Trent, Roy, Jamie, Keeley, his therapist, the rest of the team, and especially Beard. It's not like they all needed a second chance, Ted was going to give it anyway because that's the type of guy he is. But they gave Ted and his quirky ways a chance. My favorite summation of the series was the scene where Roy asked for a Diamond Dog meeting. Leslie, Trent, and Beard gave their advice about whether humans can change or not. Leslie really said it best with something like "all we can do is try to be better each day, knowing that we'll never be perfect." I also really enjoyed the contrast of that message resonating against their agreement that *things* like movies, music, food, etc. can be perfect. It's left unsaid that these "perfect" things are created by people, usually a group of people together. Giving one another an honest chance and believing in one another allowed them, even with all of their imperfect circumstances, the opportunity to create something perfect together.

Everyone involved in this beautiful show did a phenomenal job and made clear that love, friendship, and kindness …and taking good care of one’s mental health… are what matters most. The most touching moment for me was when the fans became shareholders of the club❤ I was always touched by their loyalty and always wanted for the ordinary people, who always found their place among the fans, to be valued and Ted did that, he brought them to the training and Rebecca gave them the opportunity to literally become the part of the club❤

I have a scarf that says "Owner" and I am invited to Owner's meetings where they actually listen and make changes. Some others have "DCFC Owner" in their Social Media profile. While the ending was predictable in some cases, I’m very happy with what we’ve got. The ending montage showing everyone’s futures was really well done, and it was highly rewarding to see Nate apologise to Ted, Roy take over, Sam play for Nigeria and Rupert get his comeuppance. If there’s a Keeley spin off, I’ll be keen to get into that show too.

​@john smeith Kelly's arc was a waste of time this season because she didn't grow or learn anything from the things she went through (her pr company failed and once again Rebecca saved her and she ended up like season 1, between Roy and Jamie) and her Jack plot was a filler just like Zava. I wished we had spent more time with idk Colin (being a gay player) or better yet with Sam and his restaurant because we didn't get a resolution from how he ended up playing for Nigeria! How did that happened? Everyone else had better arcs than keely.

Before I saw the first episode, I knew from my husband that it was only going to be three seasons, so I knew that the end was coming. What I didn't know was how. I loved this show from the very beginning and the ending did not disappoint. It was so good, but as it got closer and closer to the final episode, you could see that everyone was going to be okay without Ted, because as he said, it was never about me. I'm sad that the show is over and that there will be no more Ted Lasso, but it's best to go out on a high note rather than to let the series continue until no one was interested anymore leading to cancelation. Every once in a while, the perfect movie, the perfect play, the perfect song, or the perfect series comes along. Sequels are rarely as good as the original. All I could think about Ted Lasso was that it was so good, it's like "catching lightning in a bottle". I'm sad that the series is gone, but I'm happy that I got to enjoy it while it lasted. I personally don't want to see a sequel or any spin-offs. Leave perfection where it is. Catching lightning in a bottle...

I just finished watching it. I came late to the party as I started watching this show just a few months ago, but it quickly became one of my favourites. There were at least four moments in this episode where I had to hold back my tears: one was definitely when the team performed their farewell to Ted, and the other was when Nate apologised. I loved this show and how it made me feel when it ended. If I think about how I felt back when GoT ended, it's so different, and it shows how good writing can make a difference in TV series. I prefer that it ended here rather than having other three seasons and getting ruined to please the fans. Farewell, Ted!

@K Cheng You're right! It's been a few years since I started having Apple TV, I think their shows have better quality, at least according to my personal tastes. It started with Servant but then I explored other shows. For example, I love Physical, which is a not very popular show but I find it brilliant, not to mention the masterpiece that Severance is! I didn't get into TL earlier because I'm not a football fan and was afraid it was too focused on the game. What a mistake! I'd suggest anybody watch it regardless of whether they're into football. On a different note, I noticed, and don't know if it's intentional, that Apple TV shows bring up mental health quite often, and always in an interesting way. I loved what they did in TL with Ted's panic attacks and the other characters' struggles, but I find the eating disorder battle in Physical or the coping mechanism with loss and pain in Severance equally interesting, without forgetting the major anxiety problems in Mr Corman. I don't know, to me it's quite a refreshing perspective, always faced delicately and respectfully.

To quote the most famous cliche..,..'All good things Must come to an end!' There are shows/stories like these that you feel so connected to, it defines who we are in some way. Football being the 2nd Best thing in my life after my daughter I started watching it from day 1. Always thought Jason was funny from SNL & the movies he made before, but he was superb in this role as Ted Lasso. It's based around Football & a club that struggled & fought against all odds just like in life. I loved how the main characters evolved over the time & became better versions of themselves & we may say 'Well, it's just a story!' .....but I think in the end of this story the message is clearly 'BE HAPPY & LIVE YOUR LIFE ......AS YOU! ' THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, TED LASSO❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢

In an earlier episode, Sassy told Rupert that she was going to wear red at his funeral. In the final episode, she’s at the game wearing bright red lipstick and red nail polish. I think it was very intentional and symbolic.

Never seen a show with such amazing writing, amazing characters, while not over doing anything. Each character in the show adds to the story, and is written so relatable and realistic. The show doesn’t teaches its lessons in very natural and mature ways, without being cringey or over dramatic. The show is so multifaceted and a perfect blend of drama, comedy, romance, etc. When the Richmond crew described things that were perfect, this show should be a part of that conversation…. Absolute perfection.

What an ending to a truly incredible show possibly my favourite series ever would've loved to see Sam and Rebecca or Keeley with at least one of Roy and Jamie and I even wanted Nate to take over from Ted at one point but I'm happier considering Rebecca seems truly happy Keeley seems to be bossing it on her own showing she doesn't need either and Roy got the job that he may have deserved more considering he was more committed and loyal than Nate but Nate is doubt the better manager and Roy is a great individual coach and also buzzing Bears stayed as well...nothing left for him in the States...Ted seems to finally be in his happy place although I was absolutely bursting to see him and Michelle back together...just really glad it worked out for every single character in its own way like Sam on the Nigerian National team,Trent selling out on his book,Jamie and his dad reconnecting,Nate coming back and seemingly like his old season 1 self,even the likes of Higgins,Dr Sharon returning,Colin,Isaac etc...and most of all an entire crowd absolutely grilling Rupert and him getting everything he deserved especially after assaulting his own manager who had the integrity to carry on and do the right thing really respectable 👏 but by far my favourite scene from this season seeing him get exposed for everyone to see 😂😂😅

Ted Lasso was luminous and inspiring It reminded us of the bedrock of ethics, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Not to be confused by this new dark rule, “do unto others before they do unto you “. Life is hard and the path forward is often obscured by our own clutter. Do away with all the unnecessary layers of drama and prejudice. Let in the light through the cracks of humor, kindness and love. If you find going through life is easy, you’re not doing it right. I wrote this before the final episode because, whatever happens then, nothing short of a plane crash will dim my love for this show. It’s not about the wins and losses , they’re now all better versions of themselves (except Rupert) and the best is yet to come. We will miss those characters but I won’t mind if the story telling stops here. We have the gift of imagination, let’s use it to make them live on in our hearts. RT Montréal PS Kudos to JS who clearly followed his gut in creating this show but we should also have a thought for the Apple exec who gave the green light.

I liked some of the surprises, Roy getting manager job and Nate going back to kitman. I also liked that they didn’t win. I do think the Dutch guy reappearing last minute was cheesy, and I kinda wish Ted would have gone with Rebecca’s idea and moved Henry and Michelle to England so he could stay (as he seemed at home there as well.) but I also liked how even though they tied up the loose ends there is room for everyone (even Ted) to come back. Or have a spin-off if their own.

I have not seen anyone having noticed this---Roy's closing scene shows that he has become involved with Leanne Bowen (the teacher). While he has pinned a photo of Phoebe (his niece) on a board with a good luck message from her, he is mounting directly to the wall a framed and matted--and censored--portrait of Leanne Bowen as drawn by Phoebe. If the drawing was important only for being from Phoebe, the drawing and Phoebe's photo would have been treated similarly--either both pinned alongside her good luck message, or Phoebe's photo would also have been framed, matted and mounted. If Roy was working on his relationship with Keeley instead of being involved with Leanne Bowen, having a framed drawing of Phoebe's teacher's bust would have been a source of conflict between Roy and Keeley, even if that conflict was only internal to Roy assuming Keeley saw the drawing as sentimental art and not a portrait of a potential rival. The drawing is consequential for Roy in that Roy's conversation with Leanne Bowen that resulted in that drawing also contributed tremendously to the derailing of Roy's relationship with Keeley.

I absolutely loved this finale! It felt real and true to its standard of excellence! I laughed, I cried, I was cheering for Richmond and felt like a real fan ( and I really am one now 🥰). I felt like I wanted a cigarette when it was over as it was THAT satisfying! I went on with my day smiling and feeling genuinely happy to have had the privilege to watch such an inspiring show! First off, KUDOS to all the writers for making such a heartfelt series finale. The scenes with Ted/Nate, Ted/Rebecca, and Ted/Team were so emotional. Some hot takes from me (open to folks' thoughts!) * Looks like they will do a spin-off with Richmond women's team. Could Jacq start her own women's FC and be a potential rival to Keeley? * IMHO, they should do a spin-off with Danny Rojas! Danny is such a unique/funny/charming character. * Where the heck was Ted at Beard's wedding? * In the first episode of season 3 there was a rugby reference...in the last episode, Keeley's CFO also referred rugby. Could we see Coach Lasso heading down under to "tackle" the sport of rugby? (pun intended) * Dr. Jake, should now be called Dr. Jerk * Overall, as for endings go, this one was near-perfect.

This episode was quite a school fair providing a nostalgic dive through most high points of the previous episodes and seasons, showing progress in and for all characters. Especially liked the barbecue scene at Higgins where we can see that Rebecca is far less stiff in her behavior and clothing, embracing herself and her soccer/step mom newfound role; Jamy, Roy and Keeley being three casual friends, and funnily enough Colin having a chat with the priest.

Such a beautiful show. Its been ages since I've felt this sad, happy and heart felt for a season finale. Even though part of me wants Ted and the gang to return, i still loved the send off and ending of this show. not sure how a spin off or sequel to this would work without Ted and his charm but man this show made me feel like i was part of that small Richmond city and watching this guy win the last game pretty much felt as if my own home town won or something. Kudos to the writers and producers for this amazing one of a kind TV show. Will defntly gonna miss those morning biscuits on Wednesdays !!

I’m not ready for the series to be over, but so grateful for the three seasons we were gifted to have. Also, you never commented on Ted’s wife. Her boyfriend Jake was not with her at the end at the soccer game. I don’t know if they are back together but I do believe that their relationship is better and that they both are committed to supporting each other as they raise their son together. I started to be disappointed that the man Rebecca met in Amsterdam wasn’t going to reappear. I thought for sure he would as it was predicted she would have a family and he definitely had a little girl because of the room he wandered into. I started to resign myself to perhaps the family was now the fans that she sold 49 % of the club to. So happy to know she really will have a child and a fulfilled life. Also, Rupert sowed exactly what he deserved. The universe always returns what you put out, pressed down and overflowing. He put out sh*t and got it back . Ted and Rebecca put out love, and it returned to them!❤. Thank you TEAM LASSO!

While I really would’ve loved to see Keeley end up with Roy or Jamie, it made sense to me that it just showed her remaining friendly with both. It was cool to see her being a boss on her own. Rebecca’s ending was perfect! Roy taking over and going to therapy, Sam going to play for Nigeria. The future montage really tied up a lot. Did we get everything we want? We never can… I was still missing a Trent voiceover, or him reading from his book. We got him at the book signing though! Am I the only one that thinks they left some things open ended for a potential spinoff sans Ted?

it was a little curious to me that Nate did not get the head coaching job after his experience, but Roy was a good choice. Also we did not get to see Ted at Beard's wedding, which is sad because we know he would never miss that. All in all a good ending.

I feel the same way about this last episode as I did about the last episode of Father Ted. Real pathos and heart - more tears than laughs. Best comedy show for a generation, for me. They finished on a high, as any good sportsman should do.

I had began this series with an ex girlfriend. We had a lot of laughs, and sniffles through the first season. I couldn't finish the show with her because shortly before the second season began some unforeseen circumstances caused us to split apart. It took a lot for me to work up the nerve to watch the second season. It brought back memories that were all-in-all good, but painful. By the time I finished the second season I didn't feel that way anymore. Even though I was watching it alone then I'm glad I could still have a lot of laughs, and sniffles by myself. And now that season 3 has come, and gone I can safely say this show has been with me through a lot in what I can say is my worst 3 years. But it was such a needed breath of fresh air to see everyone taking their worst moments, turning them around, and coming back stronger from them. It's a very inspiring show, and I'll look back on my worst days with a smile on my face thanks to this show.

To me it seemed like seeing the 3 names of the boys on the share certificate then seeing the one name of Mae on the top certificate and the fact she then tapped the entire stack of shares told me the entire stack of shares was hers, and she bought a share for the 3 of the regular boys as we saw her hand it to them. SO, I am lead to believe Mae has a lot of investment into the team, as we already know.

I loved Rebecca's ending, after all she went through she finally got someone who chose her and values her for the woman she is. Amazing. And Ted learning to face his inner fears and put his family first. It even shows that he might get another chance in his marriage.

I realize that the door is open to doing more, but I don’t want it. Ted’s story ended the way it needed to. I’m not sure what they need to accomplish with more or what story to take up. Winning the EPL is not enough because this story was about much more. Not in agreement about Nate’s story. He mended the Believe sign with Gold which was a call back to an earlier episode where the meaning was discussed and its significance in Japanese culture. Also, last episode Roy said that Nate was good at the things he wasn’t (tactics) so my sense is he is an assistant again. Nate also talked about the his not wanting stress so as Roy’s assistant Roy can handle the pressure and Nate can do his job. While much of this is implied we will have to live with this as an explanation. Overall, I was happy with the ending and this treasure of a show will always have a piece of my heart and the find memory of being the only bright spot during COVID and its aftermath.

I’m just gonna say it …. Yes, I cried at this episode of Ted Lasso! The ending was just amazing but please let their be a season 4! It should have been at least six seasons and a movie. This is definitely one of the best comedy/drama series out there that isn’t horribly cynical and has compassion, empathy and forgiveness as it’s core message. We need so much more of that in this world!

Much as I liked the empowerment Keeley got from throwing Jamie and Roy out, I didn't like how it got there. Jamie suddenly declaring his love for Keeley again felt like an about turn on his character development. His change and the subsequent friendship he built with her and especially Roy was the best thing about the show, and the last episode undermined almost all of the maturing he's done over the 3 seasons. I didn't necessarily want her and Roy back together either, but the whole triangle ended up feeling forced, whilst also being a validation of Roy's previously irrational-seeming insecurities, and I didn't like any of that. Everything else was completely predictable, although almost all in a good, satisfying way. I'm just disappointed with shows failing to stick the landing on a brilliant redemption arc for a character named Jamie, I think.

jajaja true. But the scene really plays for Keeley advantage. Yes, Jamie´s evolution is one of the best of any show in history but he "declare" Keeley the worst possible way: Giving her an ultimatum. That´s why Roy immediately said "we fucked up" after Keeley closed the door. About the landing, i think that Jamie didn´t needed Keeley at all. It was never an important thing for him. 2 things were important for him: The love of his family and the love of himself. And in the end we saw that he finally love himself and that he found love on his family (Father´s redemption). So, to me, it was a bloody perfect finale.

@Claudio Contreras Gómez I don't disagree with anything you've said. What I have a problem with is that Jamie doing that at all didn't sit well with me. His relationship with Keeley had developed in a different way through the show, and I think the new mature Jamie would have realised that. I thought that's what the scene on her doorstep in the leak episode was about, even more than the call back to him being accountable. What they did reversed his whole growth through the series, and I hate that. His scene with his father was more down to his father's growth than his. The fact that the bar scene simultaneously validated Roy's insecurities also takes a lot of the impact away from him seeing the therapist IMO. I actually think that bar scene might be the worst scene of the whole show. It ruined almost everything about my favourite two characters in Roy and Jamie (and by extension the most fun relationship to watch develop) and my favourite storyline.

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that Higgins - who always gave the worst advice when asked by others - ended up giving the wonderful response to Roy that trying to improve every day, indeed, makes you a better person. Great twist on a three-season theme and totally on brand for the show that it was a minor character like Higgins that may have delivered the best line of the final episode and one that neatly summed up all of the show's central characters efforts to be better (minus Rupert of course) over the course of the series.

I’m happy that my question was finally answered. What is Coach Beard’s first name. Willis. 😎 Do you think Michelle and Ted got back together? There was a sort of annoyance from Michelle when Dr. Jacob was sort of mocking the game before it started and then when Henry and Michelle were celebrating at the end, Dr Jacob kind of lowered his head. I feel there was a hint there. And then of course, Ted came home to their home. I was also wondering why Nate didn’t get a coaching job straight away when he came back to Richmond but I think it’s symbolic, like he wanted to earn his way back again. He’s a kit man again but this time he is not being bullied anymore because everyone are genuinely friends there. He was even surprised that Jamie and Roy are friends. And then in the end, he did stood with Ted, Beard and Roy when they took the winning shot. There were so many nods from the first early episodes. Like when Keeley came in the locker room asking “everyone decent?”, and Nate with his box and Jamie putting money this time instead of gum. Another one first episode nod is the old Richmond/ new WestHam coach and his nutsack peeking out from his short short pants 😂 I like the subtle scene, when Ted and Beard were coming to UK they were in business class and flying out they’re in first class. Who was that red haired woman and the guy carrying a baby at Beard’s wedding? Was that from the Beard episode? Oh and I almost forgot! Shoot I was nervous for a minute there in the opening scene, when Ted emerged in Rebecca’s kitchen clearly just woke up. Thank goodness it wasn’t what it was. 😂😂😂 Overall, I think this episode is bitter sweet. I think it’s a perfect conclusion to Ted’s journey. Even know I expected him to really go home to Henry, seeing Rebecca begging for him not to go, Beard struggling to tell ate’s he wants to stay because he doesn’t want to let Ted down, seeing Nate being humbled and Ted hugging him saying “oh buddy”..there was a part of me hoping he would change his mind. But it’s inevitable. He may be gone but the Lasso way remains. ❤

This was a feel good series, and a joy to watch. Sure, I was a bit annoyed at how the many football storylines strayed from the nuts and bolts of sporting reality (eg. it isn't the coaches of the club teams that announce the callups to the national teams) but we can appreciate the series for what it was. Kudos to all involved in creating Ted Lasso.

I agree. Ted’s story should’ve stayed the focal point instead of taking such a backseat. This season was overstuffed and rushed. I wish they stuck with 30 minute episodes and focused more on Ted’s story. Unfortunately, too many pivotal moments were glossed over and not even shown! Instead we got characters talking about the aftermath of something happening. That was weak writing.

I think Ted’s future is murky and is tied into Michelle’s. Michelle/Henry were out of sorts with Marriage Counselor Guy. Ted had issues but he’s been helped by therapy and his Richmond experience. For resolution I’ll use my imagination. 🙂

I think the ending had a complete juxtaposition to how the show started. Nate coming back as assistant kit man, Ted and Coach beard when they were on the plane where Ted ask if they were stupid to do this which was the exact same line Ted and coach beard said on the plane at the start of season one. The show more or less started the same way and ended the same way but with an entire different outlook. Ted came to Richmond because he wanted to give Michelle space and then he returned as he missed his son and wanted to be their for him. I though it was a very good way to end it and for those who watched all 3 seasons it made for a very powerful ending to what has been a great show to watch.

FYI Easter eggs found at the scene at the end where Ted is choosing a couple magazines at the airport. I am now on my 3rd (and last I think) run through the show. It touched me, entertained me, and made me laugh with every episode. Favorite episodes? The Christmas special and the funeral episode when Rebecca's father died. Biggest laugh? Keely and Roy's reaction to smelling Phoebe's breath. Most emotional? Ted's conversation with Dr. Fieldstone about his father and how his father died. One of the best TV shows of all-time. I would love for it to go on forever but what we got was so damn good.

I remember hearing ,I think it was Jason Sudekis, saying the series kind of followed the arc of the original 3 Star Wars movies, and you can sort of see it. One thing I definitely appreciated about this episode was that they avoided the ultra-cliche of Richmond winning the "whole f@$ing thing". Still, it would be fun to follow a couple of these other stories....can Roy lead Richmond to ultimate success? How will the Richmond women's team get on. Finally, while I think Roy and Keeley work better together, ultimately I love the friendship dynamic that has grown between Roy, Keeley, and Jamie too much. I believe they will all find others to live their lives with and remain great friends!
