This song captures all that was great about the place in which I was raised. Sydney. North Shore. Summer.

went to one of their gigs in the 80's, at long jetty pub... they had a half time break and i'd ordered a schooner... Ted came up beside me and said i'll get it. this legend not only bought ME a beer, but stayed talking to me while we drank em. and one of the nicest guys i'll ever meet. rock on Ted.

Agreed Ted was a great musician who sang this awesome Vanda and Young song, but he was also a lovely bloke, I had the pleasure of meeting Ted quite a few time on the GoldCoast, he was down to earth and seemly didn't understand how much he would mean to us. Its sad those days are gone when you could go to the local pub and see Australian Crawl, Mondo Rock, Kevin Brrich Express, Jeff St John.

Ted Mulry lived on the Northern Beaches. Was a regular performer at Manly Leagues Club,Dee Why RSL and Balgowlah Ex Services. He is a mechanic by trade and had his own workshop in Brookvale.

I grew up in Hornsby. Saw a few bands down the Northern Beaches in the late 70s, early 80s. The Oils and The Gum at the Royal Antler. Saw Paul Kelly there in 1983, I was the only person there to see him. People were playing pool right in front of the stage and taking no notice of him. I'd heard "Clean This House" on Double J (can never remember what year it changed to Triple J). That was enough to turn me onto it's parent album "Manila". Paul Kelly's second album, never released on CD as far as I know.

Apparently, Forgotten Memories has colourised this classic music video, and it’s superb! It’s like renewing this classic and not letting it die! But it has way lower viewership than this black and white original!

I Think that all these comments sum it up Q . How good was Ted? A He was one of the best that Australia ever had. A first class Vanda and Young song yes, but Ted was a first class song writer and performer himself. TMG performed at Wyong High School socials many times in the 70's always a great night. R,I,P Ted, you were one of the best we ever had.
