I Never Knew My Father, But When Charlie Daniels Music Hit the Airwaves in the Early 70's I Found A Man That I Could Look Up To, He Changed My Life with his Music, I wish that Charlie Was My Dad, He Was A Real Person Who Stood up to what he Believed in , He Never Took A Back Step , May He R.I.P. I Miss My Dad Sorely , Mr. Daniels That Is, I saw him in concert at least 25 times, the Volunteer Jams many times, And anywhere he was playing around my area that I could go to, The Last time i saw him was in Ignacio Colorado, A few months before he passed away, When he had a heart attack in Durango Colorado, while snowmobiling I went to see him in the Hospital,,But they would not let me in to see Him, I Just Loved Everything About Him, A True American, That is Hard to find These Days, Cousin Figel

Charlie Jr. Your Dad meant so much to me. I called him affectionatly " Uncle Charlie " i am a veteran and from Pittsburgh....so you can immagine how i loved "In America" i was a kid when it came out. I was raised to love our God and our country. So i was well aware of the cold war with the Soviet Union and the Iran hostage crisis. That song gave us Americans all a shot in the arm!! He supported Veterans when it wasn't popular to do so. I got a birthday present a few years before your Dad died, two tickets to see he and the band . It was in an old but well kept theater that i would guess held just under 500. It was PERFECT! His biggest appluase was when he sang " How Great Thou Art" not only a standing ovation for a long time, but looking around not a dry eye in the crowd. You could hear the age in his voice, but it was overshadowed by his passion and faith ( especially in How Great thou Art)!! It wasnt like seeing a celebrity, it was like seeing an old friend and his band sing and play with alot of heart and talent. Your Dad also gave bigtime respect and admoration for his bandmates. The whole time, you could tell he was truly a humble man who felt blessed to be able to preform and blessed to be American! After the show, i bought a t-shirt and asked the guy behind the table if he personly knew Charlie. He said " yes" . I said " i dont wanna bother him just please tell him a veteran thanks him for having our back". He said he would. Ty for giving me this platform to talk. GOD BLESS!

Wish Ted had played more with Tommy Crain on those farm shows. Your dad had great guitar players. Tommie and Bruce Ray Brown I asked a question about “Mr. DJ”how they did it. He wrote back next day. Real class guy.He explained it in detail.
