@Ron H. actually the Bible proves science...
@marcjohnson28354 жыл бұрын
@Ron H. you haven't read the Bible much obviously. Or if you have you missed alot. The Bible told us the earth was round long before a telescope was even thought of. The Bible says that God "hung the earth on nothing" telling us it stands free in space supported by nothing in particular. The mosaic law he gave the Israelites instructed them to cover their waste and keep it out of their camp. Long before man knew about bacteria or diseases transmitted by human waste. He told them which animals were unclean or not fit for eating. One if which was the bat. Corina virus came from eating bats. The list goes on and on. To long for this thread. Read the Bible again
@marcjohnson28354 жыл бұрын
@Ron H. give it a try. It's a book. Books are worth reading. Even superstition. Pretend it's a story book if you want. At the very least it is entertaining. It has stories about love. Life and death. War. Heroes and great battles. Sex . Lies. Deceit. Court cases and executions. Military strategy. You name it. It's in the Bible. Probably better than anything you'll find on Netflix.

A lot of players got sucked in to the Floyd Rose hysteria of the '80's into the early nineties by switching to Kramers and Jacksons, or in Ted's case the PRS. As far as I'm concerned it may well have been POS, because that period is a particularly bleak one in the history of rock guitar playing.

@Adipsia110 жыл бұрын
I saw Ted on his first tour of the UK at the Birmingham Odeon... my ears didn't come out of hiding for around a week. 'Sounds' or 'NME' ran a story the week after that said that the feedback frequency from 'Hibernation' shattered the glass in the picture-frames on the walls in the theatre. At times I seriously wonder about his political views, but at others I take my hat off to him... in the same article he was asked what would happen if his tour bus got stranded during a British snowstorm during his head northwards towards Sheffield; his answer was that he'd jump out, kill a sheep, tear it apart and sleep in its woolly coat. I believe him now as I believed him then.

I'll admit that I've never given Nugent's music much consideration. AC/DC got me into hard rock many years ago and then I got way into metal before I exhaustively explored the essential material from hard rock. I guess since I'll never not like AC/DC, what Nugent material do you recommend?

***** naw, man - even though ACDC, Skynyrd, Led Zepp an hoardes of others are all influenced by basic blues riffs and share a similar lineage and sound, anyone can like whoever they want! I like Skynyrd but not Molly Hatchett. I like Pink Floyd, but not David Gilmoure's solo records. To each his own. It has nothing to do with ignorance. Although we tend to like what we know, so if I grew up with Clapton and Hendrix but didn't really listen to Doobie Brothers, then it might take me a while to get into the Doobies (as I have). Nostalgia plays a big role in musical taste, in my opinion. In any event, Dr. Nugent plays like an animal and gives an unbelievable live performance - even in his old age. Peace.
