Collaboration in the workplace is more important than ever -- but it's making us less productive in some ways. Here's what collaboration pioneer Rob Cross says is driving us to take on way too much -- and how we can reclaim our time and our peace of mind.

I'm a Japanese high school student who start listing TED talk in order to increase my listening skill. It's difficult for me to understand by listening only one time, but I'm going to keep listening!

Great!! I really respect you. I don't know what the accurate usages are,but why don't you say "improve my listening skills" instead of 'increase my listening skill'. Keep doing something is very hard, but I think you can. Best wishes, じゅんじゅん

Think of something you already do regularly, without fail. Simply attach a new habit to that, so you're allowing the new habit to piggyback off the old. Imagine introducing vitamins to go with your perfect cup of morning tea. Or picture calling a loved one on a regular drive. Notice that you have zeroed in on the behavior, rather than just focusing on the goal. You've met your outcome, to be sure, but you achieved this by simply planting the means in the right place. One habit produced the other, as if by magic.

I don’t “burn out”, I get tired of being exploited and doing everything with zero reward or incentive for doing so. 4 jobs over 10 years, never seen a single raise to anyone for working hard (even where I was a manager, could not give raises, also was told not to promote ppl who knew how to do lots because they were needed in their current positions).

That is pretty much what a burn out is. Lots of work without reward. Id software did not burn out. They worked crazy hard, but they were also celebrated like pop stars. Getting nothing done burns you out as well.

Just in time for my Senior Design project in IE! Had to meet with my team way more often to fix a borderline failing interim with 6 weeks before final phase.

He could have avoided all this and " I'm a lazy democrat, I don't want to work I want people to work for me, but I want to get paid for doing nothing". It's literally the same
