Materials -
• Two 7" round cakes - 4cm (1 1/4") high
• 850g (1lb 14oz) Sweet buttercream ( • Sweet Buttercream Reci... ) tinted to a honey brown - 4 part Americolor Copper, 1 part Americolor Chocolate Brown
• 250g (9oz) Modelling chocolate ( • How to make Modelling ... )
225g (8oz) Ivory - Wilton Ivory 1 part
20g (0.7oz) Brown - Americolor Chocolate Brown
Small amounts of Black (Americolor Super Black and Pink (equal parts Wilton Rose and Americolor Electric Pink)
• Large spatula
• Turntable (optional)
• Two 7" Round cake plate
• 12" square cake board
• Grass piping tip (mine is an Ateco 9234)

This is so adorable. How would you recommend transporting a cake life this? Also, is there a reason you used fondant for the snout instead of more modeling chocolate when you made the nose?

+Valicore no, it's all modelling chocolate in this one. I like the taste. If it's a cool day it can travel fine. If it's warmer, attach to the board with double sided tape, since it's board on board, and chill until the last minute.

How are your cakes so firm and leveled. Whenever I decorate my cakes, they're so soft and fragile and break so easily. And when I frost, there's so many crumbs (I do the crumb-coat and its fine, but I noticed yours is still so nice without it).
