I think Mac missed an opportunity with that Velvet Teddy collection. Browns are in demand in mascara & eyeliners so why repackage a basic black? Why not add a Velvet Teddy Rosey Brown mascara & eyeliners? People would have loved it, especially for Spring/Summer when everyone goes lighter & more natural with their makeup.

The JD Glow situation makes zero sense. They are saying it was a typo situation. Weird thing is they have less than 10 employees and are exempt from Prop 65. It would have been cheaper for them to have filed an answer to the petition and it would have been dismissed. They said that they couldn't afford to fight the lawsuit and couldn't afford to go out to CA to appear in court. They didn't need to show up had they filed a response. It's just weird.
@GeeSmith3339 ай бұрын
I don't think they got good advice and they may have just taken this opportunity to close the brand.
@caityjayde969 ай бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if they've been advised to completely rebrand for other reasons, and this is just the excuse that they're feeding the public, or they're taking the lawsuit as a sign that now's the time to work on rebranding. In the past couple of years, the founder has come under fire for being anti-abortion, attending anti-abortion rallies, and engaging with political and anti-abortion posts through the business account instead of her personal account. If sales have been dropping because of that, a complete rebrand may have been coming anyway.
@saulemaroussault63439 ай бұрын
They’re sued by basically bounty hunters, who specialise in prop 65 lawsuits. There might be more to the story, but also, this is in itself a very uncomfortable position for a small business.
@omegasobsessions9 ай бұрын
Yeah, they could have responded filing by fax and appeared by zoom, no need to travel or hire a lawyer to appear at all. If it is true they have under 10 employees that is extremely easy to provide proof of. Frankly it seems easier to simply slap the Prop 65 warning on the makeup boxes, get stickers ffs. The part I don’t think they have thought through OR that proves the excuse is total bunk is that by not replying the automatically lose the case so the LLC is still liable for the fine. Will be hard to get loans etc if new company has same LLC owners.

I think it would be nice if Lisa Eldridge released a test kit or something for the new skin tint, like a pack of 4 sample shades in different ranges, or an option to pick 4 colors and try it. It's a pretty steep price for just one, and to offer something like this instead is much more practical and alluring to new customers.

Hi there! Beautynews is one of my happy places on youtube. I ordered Lisa Eldridges skin tint and my 46 year old face loves it. I have pretty good skin and never owned foundation, mac face & body was the only "coverage" product I ever owned and I thinned it out. For years I used a dab of concealer here and there, bronzed softly or used a tiny bit of blush, this is my go to "skin". Yet I was looking for a product to even out my skin, tinted moisturizers did not deliver (shinny face!), light coverage foundations were to much for my face (bone structure). This tint now is what I was looking for: invisible, yet evening out. Nourishing yet not greasy, I do not powder my face. Very easy to use, feels like skin care. I look rested and not made up.

Kat I understand your point with make up including several shade ranges (be it highlighter/blush/bronzer/etc), but there are people like me that find them a godsend! In winter I'm on the fair/light shade range, but if I'm exposed to sun AT ALL I tan immediately. If I go on a beach vacation I end up on the deep range within a week (even with abundant sun screen use). So being able to buy one palette and have it all there, rather than having to buy multiple products, is nothing short of amazing.
@hebsta13149 ай бұрын
I think the language chosen by Lisa Eldridge to describe her skin tint accords perfectly with the distinction you draw as between “improves” and “perfects.” I don’t see how ‘tones down’ or ‘lifts’ or ‘evens’ somehow equates to loaded claims of perfection. I dare say those words might be more apt to the product claims to ‘enhance’ or ‘improve’ one’s complexion.

The Lisa Eldridge skin tint is pretty impressive, actually. I always prefer full coverage foundation (though I do have good skin, it’s just what I like) and this is really good. Good coverage, dries down without feeling tacky or sticky, no fragrance. I wear 10 in her foundation and bought T6. Apparently her customer service team will help match you if you send a photo and the product is supposed to be somewhat forgiving in a shade or two up or down, if that helps! I also have to have it shipped in and was worried it might be a disaster shade wise but I’ve been very pleased with the product and colour.

The Lisa Eldridge skin tint is amazing. I went from Fenty Eaze Drop tint stick to it. It does what it claims. Is it for someone that needs and expect high coverage, no - but it doesn't claim to be that. I have normal skin, it is not perfect but it is not in need of heavy coverage. This product is great for someone like me that want to have my skin look like skin, just a bit better, more even and less dull. That it has hydrating ingredients is obvious when using it and it removes a prep step for me so that is an additional bonus for me. It is very similar, but better imo, to MAC face and body

Today is not that point in my wallet. Velvet Teddy collection: I really ought to try this shade and pillow talk, too. For me it was the KVD Lolita one and two shades that hit the spot. Miss those. Rare blushlighter: oh you mean my holy grail Chanel les beige blush stick in No23? :D Too Faced chocolate sticks: Kat, you're right, if this was a potted something I would've already bought it before the video ended....but I might just get the mini born this way palette(s), looks super useful and I always wanted to try. LE products are really nice. The claims work for me. Doesn’t cover dark spots but def helps me with redness and darkness under my eyes. A few drops is all you need. The liners are like a better version of the MUFE and all come with a sharpener. The return policy for LE is really good also. I have T5 and it’s a true olive FYI The only flat product for me were the liquid lips. Just not long enough wearing for my preferences.

The LE tint is magic! I don’t know how she does it, but it’s some kind of voodoo - it’s a tint, for sure, but it does smooth my face like magic - I’m quite amazed really - I’d say it is as nice as Cle de peau liquid foundation, but is more invisible on skin - I didn’t super love the foundation bc I thought it was too dry and also oily at the same time, for me - but I have dry skin and also don’t want to see face makeup - I’d say the tint feels like a lighter and more moisturizing version of the foundation; so that slight slip feeling the foundation also has (which the Cle de peau does not have) … but if you want medium cover, it’s not going to cover or be close to a color corrector or be used like a concealer Also, somehow the lip pencils are my favorite - the nude colors are actually nude on me - usually ‘nude’ looks peach on me and I have to lean to cool colors, which can be too pink - something about how she mixes colors is magic - and the liners are perfectly smooth with just the right amount of wax - usually I get liners too soft and melt or too waxy and I’m drawing hard lines on the lips
