It reminds me of Terry pratchett boot theory of poverty. “The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles. But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet. This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.”

Is it just me or is Kayali setting trends in perfume 🤔

There is nice eucaliptus scent for home from zara home - it is called basilicum. The fragrant sticks are giving fresh yet elegant smell. I also believe that with all those trends happening at once companies are going back to their best years and try to give customers what they excel in the past. If you like full face of visible makeup from 2010s you can choose ABH or Huda, if you prefer more natural and nude look from the '90 Lisa Eldrige or Mac - if those are good formulations - why not?

Hi, ladies!!! I’m light medium with olive undertone, I’ve bought the Huda liquid blush and gloss in Ube and they look very nice on me, pinky healthy but not very purplish or cool toned. The powder I skipped, looks delicious but it’s clearly meant to suit deeper skin tones 😅

The pat McGrath peel mask, I'd never personally buy but hypothetically, I'd use it as a locking for my nighttime skincare, no mess no fuss, peel off in the morning 🤣

I watched Michelle Wang try the YSL blushes and the satin ones were good and blend able whereas the matte version was patchy. She recommended the Gucci blushes over the YSL.

On the topic of the new Pat McGrath peel off mask thing; for someone who claims to not be that involved with her namesake cosmetic company when asked about the same old color scheme with her Mothership Eyeshadow Pallets, she sure seems to have a say on this thing. What an obvious cash grab! As for my money and I, we will no longer be purchasing from the brand until she puts more effort into her company.

ND boring nude palette is really smart move, because it has all basic shades, that people use first in their palettes. And also most people use just this shades in their everyday life. I would buy that palette over and over again, like mascara.

I loved the lethal x Dexter collection but don’t love red eyeshadows so got the brushes ( and that way I could put off cleaning my existing brushes for a little longer )

The Lisa Eldridge pencil reminds me of the foundation shades of the Mac chromagraphic pencils. Can’t find them anywhere in Australia now and thinking they were discontinued.. it would be great if they’re similar in formulation.

I like the idea of the ND pallet, similar to the ElF ones. I like a simple cohesive colour story, sort of like a step by step for an eye look, a base shade, a crease shade, a Smokey or liner shade, a tear duct and brow bone highligh and then a shimmer version of the base/ lid shade. Small compact, I would get one for ‘everyday’ then a fun or party one (not that I do either 😂). May sound boring but a 9 pan like Huda’s often has similar shades or unnecessary ones that I wouldn’t use. And large pallets unless they contained every shade I wouldn’t use it and would take up too much space.

Hi ladies I have not seen the Huda powder as yet, but I love a light lavender powder. I have ultra pale (shade ref 00 in Dior, 004 in KVD and 03P in Sephora) cool toned skin and light lavender powder is so natural on me while still being subtly brightening. It's more brightening than pale pink for my skintone. It's not for everyone and will look ashy on more melanated skin, but for the really pale it's incredibly pretty. This looks like true purple and will suit more medium skin that leans sallow, but again it's not for everyone. No shade is completely universal in anything tbh - white supposedly invisible powder often looks ashy on deep skin. The Dexter collab is really clever and very well done. Best wishes x

purple toned powder has been popular in east asia for over a decade now. i think innisfree still do a purple variation of their popular setting powder. really helps brighten the skin depending on your tone. also purple primers/bases. i feel everything is always overdone whenever the concept travels to the west.

Wait... This is legal? The legislation in Australia should catchup. I really hate the idea of essential goods in the law, because who and how decides what is essential? Is a car an essential? Are gluten-free products an essential? Are hair- and body-care products an essential?
