Dude , I’m a 37 year old man from New England , who has been hardened by poverty and long hard winters. I’ve nailed and clawed for every inch forward in life. Hardship is all we know out here in Northern New Hampshire. This rendition, of this song has me feeling things I haven’t since I was a child. Well done.

my man, I used to live up that way. I know what you mean! If you ever get a chance, check out Thirsty Moose Taphouse in Portsmouth, NH. If it's the same as it was 5 years ago, they had the best wings I ever tasted in my life. I would like to go back in time and enjoy those once again. Anyway, cheers bro

Maybe we need tears to cleanse ourselves. Whatever has gone on in your life, remember that sometimes we need to first forgive ourselves. We can hold guilt that really doesn't belong to us, and responsibility for things that we didn't cause. Try to be especially good to yourself.

🎵 lyrics 🎵 I know they say you can't go home again I just had to come back one last time Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam But these hand prints on the front steps are mine And Up those stairs in that little back bedroom Is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar And I bet you didn't know under that live oak My favorite dog is buried in the yard I thought if I could touch this place or feel it The brokenness inside me might start healing But Out here it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just come in I swear I'll leave Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me Mama cut out pictures of houses for years From better homes and garden magazine Plans were drawn and concrete poured And nail by nail and board by board Daddy gave life to mama's dream I thought if I could touch this place or feel it The brokenness inside me might start healing But out here it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just walk in I swear I'll leave Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me You leave home you move on And you do the best you can I got lost in this whole world And forgot who I am I thought if I could touch this place or feel it The brokenness inside me might start healing But out here it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could juste walk in I swear I'll leave Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me

Thank you for the lyrics. I stopped by the house I grew up in 40 years later and asked the new owners if I could come in. The people were gracious enough to let me tour the house. So much had physical changed, but that is my safe place in my mind. So many memories are in that house.

The first time I heard this song, I had to just sit down and cry. Except for the second verse about how the house was built, this song is my life. I can close my eyes and see every single room, nick-nack, the pictures on the walls, and yes-my bedroom was upstairs, it’s where I did my homework and practiced playing guitar. My favorite dog ( Suki) really is buried by a tree in the old backyard. My parents are gone now, having died six months apart back in 2000. I have only been back home once since then, and remember passing by our old house and wondering what the people living there today would think if I walked up onto the front porch and knocked on the door. Hearing Teddy’s version of this song, with so much emotion, brought back more memories I hadn’t thought of in a long time...thank you for that. There is an old song by Waylon Jennings that you would knock out if the ballpark, too....”Rose in Paradise”. You have an amazing gift, Teddy, and the emotion in your voice is amazing. You don’t just enjoying singing, you don’t just use your voice...your entire soul sings, and it’s beautiful.

I absolutely love and feel this song Teddy .. we had a tough up bringing ,we didn’t have much but we all loved our house that built me and the roads we grew up in around it .. this song has helped me think , I could actually now return there since loosing Dad and Mum in the last 12 years and our house now being someone else’s house that now builds them . You are a true talent Teddy your voice is heaven sent and the songs you sing just ooze with soul and feeling ..! Thank you for sharing this song and reminding me in bad times we can go back in time remember our happy memories and begin to heal inside.. can’t wait to see you live in London February in Kentish Town England… Teddy you rock dude!😊

Lyrics: I know they say you can't go home again. I just had to come back one last time. Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam. But these hand prints on the front steps are mine. Up those stairs, in that little back bedroom Is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar. And I bet you didn't know, under that live oak My favorite dog is buried in the yard. I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing. Out here it's like I'm someone else, I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just come in I swear I'll leave. Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me. Mama cut out pictures of houses for years. From 'Better Homes and Garden' magazines. Plans were drawn, and concrete poured, And nail by nail and board by board Daddy gave life to mama's dream. I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing. Out here it's like I'm someone else, I thought that maybe I could find myself. If I could just come in I swear I'll leave. Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that built me. You leave home, you move on and you do the best you can. I got lost in this old world and forgot who I am. I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing. Out here it's like I'm someone else, I thought that maybe I could find myself. If I could walk around I swear I'll leave. Won't take nothing but a memory From the house that, built me.

Teddy, I'm rarely at a loss for words, but you have made me sit back in my chair and cry (somewhat happy tears, more on that in a moment)... I found you literally 15 minutes ago and I am hooked. Of course, I've only listened to your covers so far, but I can't wait to listen to your originals. As for the tears... music is in me and I can find meaning in almost every song I listen to, but this particular song, Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me" touches the depths of my soul and elicits the most intense emotions and reactions....it has a place in my heart... I never thought I'd feel that same response by anyone other than Miranda Lambert, but before you hit the first note in the 3rd line of the first verse, the tears began to fall uncontrollably. THANK YOU so much for sharing your talent and making me feel both happy and somber (it's a good thing!). :-) I see you are going to be in Philly in just a few days...I may have to change my schedule so I can attend!

Remember...Goodbye is never permanent. We always have the memories of everything that made us who we are today and even our future selves. Yes, some of those memories hurt, but at the end of the day...they are what led us to where we are. They taught us what not to do as well as what *to* do. After the childhood I went through...this knowledge is still what gets me through the bad times, and even the good times, that I face...even today.

Found this man by mistake one night about 5 years ago been listening to him ever since that wonderful night..he's just amazing to listen to. He's brought a little old country back into this so called new country that I don't care to much for. So as long as he keeps singing his songs I'll be listening..God Bless you Chris!!!

শপথ করছি, যে বাড়িটি আমাকে তৈরি করেছে তার থেকে স্মৃতি ছাড়া কিছুই নিবো না ..😢 Lyrics: I know they say you can't go home again I just had to come back one last time Ma'am, I know you don't know me from Adam But these hand prints on the front steps are mine Up those stairs in that little back bedroom Is where I did my homework and I learned to play guitar And I bet you didn't know under that live oak My favourite dog is buried in the yard I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing Out here, it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just come in, I swear I'll leave Won't take nothin' but a memory From the house that built me Momma cut out pictures of houses for years From better homes and garden magazine Plans were drawn and concrete poured Nail by nail and board by board Daddy gave life to Momma's dream I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing Out here, it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could just come in, I swear I'll leave Won't take nothin' but a memory From the house that built me You leave home, you move on And you do the best you can I got lost in this whole world And forgot who I am I thought if I could touch this place or feel it This brokenness inside me might start healing Out here, it's like I'm someone else I thought that maybe I could find myself If I could walk around, I swear I'll leave Won't take nothin' but a memory ..😢 From the house that built me

I don't really listen to country but I make an exception for Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies and this is my very favorite Miranda song, it's gotten me through the last several years of grief after losing both my parents. To now have one of favorite artists cover it is more than I could've ever asked for and more... The emotional reaction I had listening to this is further proof of your phenomenal talent and just how much heart and soul you put into every note out of your mouth. Thank you guys for putting so much of yourselves into your music, it doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated.
