Amazing patriotism and love for American in this era.. This love just doesn’t exist today...only the drive for power and control today....

Thank you to the poster. Very delighted to see this. For those who don't like the personification of Teddy here, may I suggest checking out Brian Keith in a performance that should've gotten an Oscar nod as Teddy in 'The Wind and the Lion' (dir. John Milius, 1975.) Highly fictionalized, no doubt ... but a fine performance.

This is a man that got shot before a speech, and even though he was wounded and bleeding, carried on with the speech, nearly an hour and a half!!!...how many leaders would do that today???

Obviously this is a politically motivated "rah-rah" kind of movie - but it is cynical to just dismiss it. Understanding its context, Teddy Roosevelt was so much more than this movie. For the "younger generation" who'll not take the time to read a book, this short movie hits the highlights of the best of Roosevelt's story. His quotes alone, widely available with an internet search, are raw and inspirational Americanism. 🇺🇲👍 Thanks for posting this video.

The strongest and most patriotic President who stood for our for founders values, the end speech should be played in every grade of our public schools twice a year. Learn the true meaning of being an American citizen.

People calling this impression over-the-top, keep in mind this was made just over 20 years after Theodore Roosevelt died. As such, the man's speech and mannerisms were still fresh in the minds of the American public at the time. It's not as inaccurate as you might think.

For the record, when the Germans realised that Roosevelt's son was killed in combat, they informed it in a very respectful way, as the son of the Honorable President Roosevelt, and was given a State Funeral, befitting the son of a world Leader...

Gee, they didn't do that for the surviving families of 6 million Jews a decade or so later.

Until fairly recently, being Vice President of the US was being the lamest of the lame ducks-barring major calamity, the post was pretty much a symbolic one, with very little consequence...why, until the 1960s, Vice Presidents flew or rode commercial, and had a very puny operating budget...it was'nt until JFK's assasination that the Vice President's criticality in a Dangerous world was realised, and such things as keeping him apart from the President and heavily protected became the SOPA...before that, as it is suggested, the post was not taken too seriously, and was thought of as a political dead end...

I'm repeatedly amazed at how lousy some of the older "Best Short" Oscar winners are. They should have called this film "Squint and Shout."

Still, America could really use a Teddy Roosevelt today...a true Progressive leader, who did not fear stepping on people's toes!!! And he was an environmentalist too!!!
