Immediately fell in love and bought it in 2018. The demand was so high that Selfridges limited the sales. Now in 2022 it's still one of my favourites. It has much more character than other BB models.

Really fascinated by all the comments around the size being too big. I have a 7 inch wrist, which I don’t regard as a large wrist, and have been a 44mm Panerai wearer for years. When I wear my 16613 Sub, which I love, it actually initially seems too small until I get used to it. I bought the Tudor Bucherer last year and for me it fits great. In summary, I think it’s what you get used too, not necessarily what factually looks good on your wrist.
@mercoid2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about becoming accustomed to the size watch you wear. At the same time I think that in doing so, many people can lose their objectivity as to what looks good or absurd on their particular size wrist. Of course one can argue that it is a matter of Subjectivity, whatever makes you happy is all that matters, but I would beg to differ.

Beautiful watch, I love the Black Bay line but what a strange size to have. I was thinking exactly what you said, the BB 41mm was always a bit bulky which put alot of people off, so why make this 43mm? 🤔
@TheOnlyShanzz3 жыл бұрын
According to Tudor, the alloy that they were using wasn’t as structurally sound as they would like at the 41mm size, so they made it a touch bigger to match their toughness specifications

It's a great looking watch. Big, built like a tank, and relatively understated. The only criticism is that the Nato strap doesn't hold it very well on the wrist - it's too heavy a watch for a Nato strap. The supplied leather strap is very sturdy though, and does the job admirably.

Nice review and it gave me a chance to see this Bronze and how it stacked up with my Rado Bronze. To me a Bronze watch is a niche piece something I don't think many will have as their sole watch. Correct me if I'm wrong. Then with that in mine I'll give you my opinion on the two. The Rado is a better choice. Yes the Tudor beats it on a few levels but for the sizable difference in price. The Rado is smaller and thinner and has a better depth rating. The Rado also uses the Aluminum/Bronze alloy to slow aging and weight savings. But let me add I've had my Rado since last May and it's aged considerably since then and thats not even letting it near water other than splashes from doing dishes. I have no idea what effect swimming in fresh or salt water would have done. The Rado uses a Titanium case back nicely decorated. To be clear the in house movement and the bezel pip on the Tudor are very nice touches but to me not worth the big price difference for a watch thats not your daily wear. Have to say it's fun to chime in on a watch I have already mentioned I had to you last week.

Alright dude, you just put a dent in the old savings account. I had been shopping for some time on that next watch, I sold my tudor GMT and missed it (long story), had been thinking about the Black Bay line in Blue, which includes the original Black Bay, the new kid on the block Black Bay 58, and the bezel-less black bay blue when I saw this video. THe blue/bronze color combo closed the deal for me. 2 thoughts to share from the first few days of ownership- both the cloth band and the brown leather strap are nice, but fairly small. I am on the second from the last notch on both, and for a watch of this size (43mm), I was surprised about that. And while I'm a big guy, my wrist size is only 7.5 cm. I've worn it a few days on the fabric "nato" and the leather strap, and due to size and weight to me it feels better on the leather. Thanks? Yes! Its my new fav, and its keeping some other watches worth significantly more in the watch box.

Teddy - deffo one of the most professional, articulate watch guys out there - keep it up. I have this watch - The TBB5 from Bucherer in London. It's everything you say; and a great representation for your brand positioning concept for Tudor as being ...'the utilitarian luxury. watch'; as an adman, they should 100% look at that more than the current ''Born to dare' strapline. Why? Because clearly Tudor is now occupying the original brand positioning of Rolex, which was all about tool watch perfection/bred for purpose. From which desirability grew (built on build quality/choice of material/ stunning firsts etc) into desired attainability and now where we see Big Bruv, seeing itself as the most 'accessible' (i.e. easy to buy into, not easy to buy - hahahha!) luxury watch brand. Tudor's new bi-compax/mono colour chronos being excellent examples (the silver 58 maybe, the Gold NOT!) Any way, rant over: salient point and best suggestion: if were Tudor, I'd be looking to do three things with the BB line - and I mean the 41mm, here they are in reverse order of preference 1: Reduce the slab sides height by 1mm 2. Introduce ceramic bezels, but muted not gloss (except for celebratory issues?) in the same way their aluminium pepsi colours are more subtle than Rolex's GMT. 3. And my biggest suggestion is to take the 3/6/9/ dial furnture from this watch and put it into the 41mm versions - and make sure lume is same power!! Keep it up mate; Stuart from the UK!

I guess I'm just a traditionalist. I've yet to pull the trigger on a bronze watch as of yet and don't see that happening in my future . As usual, Tudor kills it with the typical quality workmanship on case finishing, dial and bezel color etc . Just something about the medium of bronze when used in a watch that doesn't do anything for me personally. I wonder if bronze will be used 5 yrs. from now . I guess I'll have to wait and see .
