This video proves that some individuals with lots of money tend buy high end items solely based on brand recognition while missing out on the true value-to-money of lesser known brands. As Kevin showed, which is what I really liked, is his genuine appreciation for the microbrands that Teddy brought. Nothing was fake about his excitement once he found out their cost and level of quality/visual appeal. His fixation on most of them, especially the Brew, was truly amazing. I've always liked Kevin and after watching this, I like him even more. Great video Teddy!

I would love to see another episode of this series. Everybody wins with these videos. I’m not huge into micro brands, particularly because once you start pushing near or over $1k there’s more risk in terms of maintaining value. But these kinds of videos introduce people to great pieces, and the popularity of the content + the weight of a recommendation from you and Kevin helps to ensure that there will be continued demand and a fair resale market. So, I’m all for it! 🤝👍🏼 Thanks, Kevin and Teddy!

The resale value of microbands depends on the watch geekspace population for such brands. And that's constantly growing. My interest in watches started about 3 weeks ago. @raulbancroft25522 жыл бұрын
Agreed about the nautilus. The only thing I can think of is that the nautilus is so iconic you could recognize it just by its outline. Check out Wise watches they have a fantastic diver with a really cool dial (especially the blue and red patterned dial)

@ericfan91492 жыл бұрын
It’s not that it looks like an homage or knockoff, but it definitely takes its design cues from the 1970s, and the Nautilus has a very 1970s design language. It also has an integrated bracelet that tapers dramatically from the case, so I can see a passing resemblance in its silhouette (although obviously they are watches that occupy completely different worlds).
@watchweekender2 жыл бұрын
Same. I don’t see a similarity beyond the design being a 70s era integrated steel watch. But that maybe why he felt it looks like a nautilus. Everyone has a different way of understanding when they see making opinions on design so subjective. I’m surprised he didn’t choose the Zelos with the aventurine dial. He chose steel sports watches of sorts.

Sorry to be pedantic, just a lot of misinformation going on elsewhere. Its not "case hardening", its just called surface hardening. Its completely analogous in surface function, but there are some critical differences in both the process and the result. The bjggest difference is the depth of hardening (case hardening can go much much deeper) and corrosion resistance (surface hardening dramatically increase it). On top of that you just cant case harden 316 as well. Cheers

Yes, I suppose it reveals somewhat of a pain point to introduce products to market that may not be worth fixing, especially for a product category that in my opinion should all be about lasting (hopefully) a lifetime. The hardened steel approach certainly is worth exploiting more in that respect and given e.g. brews design, this would really benefit from it. Such a more durable 'tool' approach on the rather lustrous retromatic dials might win me over, although the Traska itself is actually surprisingly attractive to me.

You have to love how charmingly out of touch this guy is - the price of most of these watches is a light lunch to him - he looks so thrilled when he realises he could have a decent, sharp looking watch for what he’d usually pay for a salad - these watches are like an indulgent guilty pleasure for him - a bit like the average collector with Casio’s

I ordered my Lander IV GMT last night. Imo best watch in this video, but I was also impressed (and always have been) with Brew.

At what point did Kevin realise that he has been spending ridiculous $$$$ on watches that really are not that much better then what Teddy has shown him?
@tapirdeaalex71042 жыл бұрын
From what I saw he only buys hyped stuff that retains value, so hes more an investor/speculator than a watch enthusiast.

@hey it's pete I really hate the way he says collection (COLLECZION) as if its some thing exotic. But hey lets be nice. Happy New Year!

Sir, you're knowledge and willingness to showcase but also enjoy watches the rest of us can afford, thank you. I have learned so much. you make it easy to learn these products without making it complicated, great education on everything. I am now turning into a watch lover. Thanks Teddy!. So how do I get my hands on a Brew Metric retro? Gorgeous watch, amazing dial.

I think Mr. Wonderful forgot about the Zelos when picking his top 3! How could a dial lover not pick that aventurine?

Yeah, I was surprised at the Brew pick as well.

Kevin doesn't give a shit about watches, he's just a fake flake investor.

Love this concept. I wonder if he knows about anOrdain. Looking forward to another video. Side note, did anyone else notice he is rocking skull cuff links with an FPJ?! Is there a backstory there I’m not aware of?

14:18 made me think of CASIOAK, where the G-Shock GA-2100 series 'capsule' can switch straps, bracelets and cases too!

Great videos, I joined the website and looking to order my first diver from you. Honest question, should I order the Tissot seastar 1000 or 2000? I see all of the 2000 models selling out but the color I like the most is the black and gold 1000 that will possibly still be available after the 2000 models are sold out.
