Proud owner of a Sinn U2, a JLC Master Compressor Extreme WT and a Zenith open dial Chronomaster among others. These are classic WIS purchases 😁 I've also bought a Glashutte Original as it's a very high quality brand at great prices for what you get. You rarely see that brand outside Germany but they make beautiful watches. Doxa was always on the list but I somehow haven't bought one yet and I've enough divers. My watch collection is smaller than it used to be as I wasn't wearing much of what I had accumulated over nearly 3 decades. I'd also add Stowa, Ball Watch Co & Linde Werdelin to the list.

Sinn is definitely underrated, especially as someone who's in the military and wants a literal tank of a watch. The weird part i when you see someone with a nice watch and want to do some small talk but he has no idea about it so you are left with awkward silence. Happened to me twice :)

Meistersinger. I am willing to bet anyone wearing a single-hand wrist watch is all in...

Sinn and Marathon are the two most impressive to me on here. If someone’s wearing either one of those, I know they are into watches. Seiko? The dude wearing one of those could’ve just stopped off at the watch counter at Macy’s after buying ties. Vashon and Patek? Often purchased by shallow rich guys after somebody clues them in that Rolex is not top of the luxury heap.

Vacheron purchased by shallow rich guys? OMG..... I think you are mistaken with Richard Mille.....

Thanks teddy, this video really helps as I am just getting into watches and have no idea of what to look for . Cheers Mate, from Australia.

Thanks for this video Teddy ☺️ Brands from Glashütte are very nice ! Nomos, Glashütte 🥰

The interesting part is there are I believe literally 100's of watch brands from Glashutte, but outside of Germany we really only hear about a few.

Teddy, I love the content you are putting out. I always find it very informative and interesting. Thank you for exposing us to a wide variety of watches and watch brands.

So congrats on 300K! I wonder what % of Seiko wearers are "enthusiasts" as opposed to the mall watch shoppers?
@brett23963 жыл бұрын
Depends on the model. You can tell pretty quickly, if it isn't one of the more renowned models, it's a mall watch. I haven't seen any of the really top model Seikos in malls or department stores.

True, I think the only one I’ve seen in the wild that enthusiasts dig is the Save the Ocean.

I have been wearing my Vostok Amphibia for the last month or so. After I spent a lot on having it serviced and regulated, it has been within COSC parameters.

Seiko is a crazy world that you can get caught up in.....tell me about it. Great video Teddy.

Many good mentions here. I would include Eterna (historic innovation), Junghans (true Bauhaus design), Rado (exotic materials) and Squale (historic dive watch case makers) and, for the fully loaded watch lover, Blancpain (FF, the archetype for the modern dive watch). For the left-field types: Bulova Spaceview with the Accutron movement (the short-lived, but fascinating world of pre-quartz "electric" watches).

Teddy your awesome. I have learnt so much about watches from you and now I have the 4 best watches for me. It's been a journey and I bought and sold omegas. For now I just only go for haq. I have 2 grand seikos and 2 tag heuer divers. Thanks again. I love nice things but to pay more than $5k for a watch is a bit nuts. $10k crazy. For me personally.

You’re right that you could have done a video just on German watches that fit the definition. I’ve got a Damasko that rocks the Sinn vibe. Terrific video as usual. Great content, editing etc. You put amazing effort into this.

Couldn’t agree more about Sinn. I own Rolex, Omega, JLC,....even Patek and ALS. The watch that gets most of my wrist time?...my Sinn 856. It’s just so reliable and worry-free. It looks great in almost any situation. Can take a beating. And doesn’t scream “Hey, look at me! I have $X,000 on my wrist!” There’s just something so comfortable about having this watch on my wrist every day.
@wayneholmes6372 жыл бұрын
I bought my 856 after getting annoyed about my other watches nearly always being magnetized after long distance flights with one or two transit stops. It is also super legible for my not so good eyes.
