With how connected the world is and the ease of travel for others you may know, family members, this kind of complication could still have it's benefits, I work from home with people across the globe and there are one or two people I always need to calculate what time it is for them.

Definitely the coolest design by them in my opinion. I'm still a bit confused on how the different world time features operate, but I'm slow on the uptake occasionally. I like this silver/white one more than the blue too. Would have to try this on, as those lugs are probably a bit long. Needlessly so.

It’s because this watch isn’t actually a world timer. It’s just a fancier GMT. there’s no 24 hour scale on the watch so there’s not actually any way to see the current time in each of those time zones

I know you're a Nomos fan Teddy. I'm not, as minimalism isn't my thing, but......I do like the look of this one. Lots of character, an interesting dial, reminds me a little of the old fashioned weighing scales and that's a good thing! I'm impressed!!

I must admit I'm quite a fan of Nomos, what they have achieved in a relatively short time is commendable. Actually it was some of the earlier reviews by Teddy that piqued my interest in the brand leading to a purchase of a Ludwig 36mm that is so slim it's almost like wearing a large coin on the wrist. The almost minimalist yet elegant dials are a big draw. Nomos appear to be branching out into new territories with the new radial date indicator on some models and more colorways that I also like. This model has just about managed to retain some of the core aspects of readability, elegance and size but is a huge departure from what I would have expected Nomos to release.... And I like the execution. It is no longer a simple watch though to be honest but it looks great considering what it can do. As I'm no longer much of an intercontinental traveler and already have another GMT watch I'm not sure I would make a purchase soon but the more I look at it that may change over time. The small touches like the outline of a house to indicate the home time is a nice touch as are the more verbose city names instead of very small abbreviations . A Nomos with pushers, well that is pushing the company into a new direction. I completely applaud the brand for releasing something completely different and arguably a massive departure from the current offerings.

Well said in the end. This watch is not minimalist yet it conveys minimalist even more than other. I think it has a lot to do with its off white color and the cut-out cardboard feeling of the dial. Such a unique piece.

This is my favorite Nomos, great review, I'd like a bit more information on the world time feature, and settings, I find myself rewatching that several times and a little confused, but I get the basic concept. Stunning and unique watch for sure, a bit more than I'm looking to spend, I'm more in the sub 5k range but yeah, this is a current holy grail for me in the travel watch category with the Tudor Pelagos Marine Nationale being my holy grail for everyday, go to the beach and get wet category lol. Thanks Teddy

@TeddyBaldassarre I am basically an off spring of Hodinkee in terms of watches, I matured into the hobby watching talking watches which helped shape my very diverse taste in watches. However, I think collectors have taken things too literal and it is evident of pricing on very specific brands and models that are taken the majority of the monetary gains, mainly through auctions. We need new heroes that can show today's younger collectors (not just by age) what the future could be. I have seen talking watches with Roni Madhivani, this would be a brilliant addition to such a collection or an addition to a new collection inspired by Roni's. However, as I have mentioned, it is taken too literal that it is Patek or AP and nothing else. Even modern mass produced Cartier is a great substitute for the auction darlings of Cartier. I am not sure what the current generation of collectors are thinking.

Just for context. The cheapest mechanical chrono available right now is a Seagull from China. You can get it from Aliexpress for 170$. So just the idea of getting any name brand chronograph for 500$, or even 1000$ is crazy. And waterproofing doesn't necessarily lower the price.

It's not a world timer - it's a true GMT with a different kind of visualization. Disqualified by the missing date. Nomos lugs are infuriating ... you can clearly see a gap between the strap and the case. Why limit wearability and aesthetics like that??
@RasenRambo23

This design fucks you over when you assume the correct time by location in situations when Daylight Savings Time changes at different times in different locations. Say you travel to from the US to Europe in mid March, the difference will be 1 hour less than the watch thinks because of that delayed DST shift. So you happily set the local time zone on the dial of your fancy GMT, then realize it's wrong and that you need the pusher you didn't bring to do anything about it. Horrible.
@jefe.amo32
@jefe.amo32 2 жыл бұрын
That can’t be right? Why are you using a pointy pusher to set the hour hand for your local time? That tool will get confiscated at airport security in no time. Pun totally intended.
