The fact that rengoku and uzui never got marks is crazy to me because they literally put their all in the fights. Rengoku literally went way past his limits and still didn't get a mark and this boy Tanjiro gets stabbed in the mouth and is able to unlock the mark forcefully. It’s basically another thing related to sun breathing I’m pretty sure but the same happened with yoriichi. when he was alive he was the only one to have a mark then suddenly everyone else had one until he died then there weren’t anymore people who had the mark until tanjiro who also has sun breathing. And Yoriichi's mark DID create the chain reaction, just first when he became a demon slayer and made sun breathing, hence why it's related to sun breathing and not Yoriichi himself.

I think the main reason rengoku wasn’t fully present in the frame where Tanjiro was thinking about all the people who helped him was because he was the only one who was dead in that frame and it could be symbolic of the shame and guilt he feels in rengokus death.

(aka the tanjiro dupe we see during tanjiro's flashback after his fight with upper six) the flashbacks hes getting are from sumiyoshi, due to him and yoriichi having some sort of buddy-buddy relationship in the past because of how yoriichi saved him and his wife from a demon?? maybe?? i dont remember lol. but tanjiro and yoriichi are not related by blood at all. yoriichi only has one other sibling which is michikatsu tsugikuni, aka kokushibou. btw those flashblacks are from like the edo period of japan and i personally find that bizzare and wild 😭

So this is a manga spoiler but a possible explanation for the blue spider lily/ why Nezuko can walk in the sun. Now in the manga during the flashback on the spider mountain arc, you see Tanjiro see the blue spider lily. That's because his mother knew where it was. When Nezuko was little her mom took her and Tanjiro to where Yorichi’s wife was buried (The house Tanjiro and his family lived in was the Yorrichis old home. When his wife died he buried her nearby and the BSL grew on her grave) and Nezuko ate some by accident. Now that could be a reason why she could walk in sunlight bc she consumed some of the flowers. Unfortunately, they leave stuff out of the anime bc without reading the manga you probably wouldn't have known.
